Building on those small successes

I'm really starting to feel like I'm back in the swing of things around here.

In my last blog, I said I'd check in again on June 1. So here I am!

Ok, granted, I have plenty of room for growth. But I'm remembering what I like most about checking in here daily. It's so positive! Everywhere else in the dieting world, weight loss is treated with negativity. Focus on the restrictions. Suck it up and go hungry. No pain, no gain.

Here, it's like...we're all real. We're all imperfect. BUT, what are we doing right? What can we improve upon?

I can't believe I almost forgot these fundamental truths. I've been away too long.

I've been logging in here every day for the past 23 days. That is a huge success! I have lost 5 pounds in that time. I didn't lose this week, but I didn't gain either--after a less-than-stellar holiday weekend, I'll take it!

I've been better about sleeping and better about exercising and better about tracking. I will stick with what I've done these past 3 weeks and build on it. Only then will I see continued success.

Onward and upward!
