Smaller, easily obtainable goals mean less stress, more hooray!

Wednesday, June 07, 2017

An article on SparkPeople today talked about redefining success. It said that most dieters would be disappointed by a 15% weight loss and that we need to redefine success as any movement in the right direction. Small, easily obtainable goals help keep you motivated on your way to larger goals. So I changed my goal from 50 lbs. (25% of my starting weight) to 20 lbs. (10% of my starting weight), and once I reach that goal I will set another 10% goal, and so on, until I reach my final goal. Already, due to the incredible success of my first 18 days here, I have lost 11 pounds. So with this new goal, I only have 9 more pounds to go. Over halfway there! So I am much more motivated to stay on track when I see such progress.

    Fantastic, keep it up!!!

Major goals can get very frustrating, very easily. Keep your goals small and attainable, and once you reach them... move the goal posts! You'll still be moving in the right direction, but with much less frustration! You'll get there!!!
