7/2/17 Where Does My Joy Come From....

Sunday, July 02, 2017

..... first phone call at the vet office this morning was a long time client, who called up to rant and rave about a vaccine protocol we have in place for boarding that she believed we should have told her about months ago, and she just would not stop being mad and accusing me of making the trip she planned for months impossible. I explained, and reasoned and then just told her, come over now, I will have a doctor see you, get the necessary vaccine updated, get you in and out and on your way to prepare your trip. I basically almost had to hang up on her, because everything I said she felt was another complication to her life. I remained patient and calm throughout. When she came in, she was almost in tears and she kept apologizing for being so rude to me, who just tried to help her. She told me that her daughter just totaled her car, and that her brother had just died a few weeks ago, and she felt like everything in her life was falling apart. I got her into an exam room right away, told all the staff what her situation was, and everyone helped together to get her dog vaccinated and both of them on their way. She was so relieved. We never know what another person is going through. Seeing the person behind the yelling and the anger has become second nature to me. It hardly ever is what it seems. Guess I can stop asking Jesus why He put me behind this initially dreaded reception desk. Thanks for giving me a chance to shine your light on those who need it!

.....my bed. I love my bed. I am exhausted and I am so comfortable in it.

.... leftovers. Of the spicy sort. I didn't have to cook tonight, and the spice helped clear up my stuffy nose.

You definitely do a great job of sharing His Light!
Hope you kick this cold soon! A couple of my coworkers have been suffering with a pretty nasty cold,
but so far I have been able to steer clear of it... and I am very grateful for the long weekend to stay away from their germs! emoticon

You did such a wonderful thing. You're so right. You just do not know what is really behind some people's tirade. I am glad you could help the woman.

You're right Ute, you just never know what is going on in a person's life. Why does it seem like they all want to take it out on the first person who they come in contact with. I'm glad you went the extra mile to accommodate this person and their pet. It seems like the angrier a person is, the more apologetic they seem to be. Patients only know they are sick, and that's it, I have experienced. I guess it's the same way when they have a pet who is in need.

Glad you got your stuffy nose taken care of. You must have one comfortable bed and it seems like a very special place for you. I feel that way about my chair in our TV room. It's a big soft and cushy chair that you just melt into. You take care of yourself and drink plenty water to keep you hydrated. Have a Happy 4th of July Ute! emoticon
