Day Nine - Jumpstarted my yoga workout

I decided to get myself going on my yoga workout again and did right by it today. I worked out for 82 minutes and have never felt as good as I do now. I got into yoga about 2.5 years ago due to an exercise injury that affected my left hip, butt, leg, groin, quads, and hams. Talk about PAIN! Ouch! Well, I got tired of being in pain all the time and I thought I'd give yoga a whirl. And I've been doing it ever since.
I'm not a spring chicken any more so I had to find a routine that was a bit more gentle than what we all see on tv and the internet. So I came across a book, "A Morning Cup of Yoga", written by Jane Goad Trechsel with the forward written by Rodney Lee. It's a 15 minute routine but, due to the nasty and painful injury I had, I worked at relieving and healing that injury with this book.
I remember I started with not being able to do much of anything. But I was determined and proceeded day in and day out. I was determined to get my leg to function again at 100% capacity. It was rough but I worked through the pain as best I could in the beginning. I remember saying to myself that I would do this routine every day as I could see how this consistent practice of doing these stretches could be beneficial to my hurt areas. Well I never realized that, not only would the repeat and consistent daily workouts benefit my hurt areas, it actually began to make them stronger and stronger. And, in the end, this consistent, daily routine I sought out actually did heal the hurt area and I got my leg back to working the way it should.
But there seems to be yet another injury that was apparently lurking deep down and underneath all the others. It's a nagging, sharp pain up in my groin area that I haven't been able to rid myself of. But, after this 82 minute workout today, I was bound and determined to be done with annoying ache and pain and remove it from myself NOW. Only time will tell, but I do feel pretty darn good.
Oh and by the way ..... despite what you may thing about this being a "gentle" workout, you do sweat through it .... especially when you working out a kink, knot, ache or pain. You work through it as best you can but you don't "inflame" the pain you may be feeling. Over time, the stretches will eliminate the pain and the injury. Take it from me. I'm living proof. And .... I didn't go to the doctor once for these horrible injuries.
I actually somehow managed to hurt myself this way while bowling. So then I had to also implement a new way of bowling that would allow me to continue to heal.
Happy to say, I'm in good shape again and I could be bowling if I want to be but have decided that I want to get that leg completely healed before I do again.
