Life is good. I had a rough couple of years. Losing track of my goals and just basically not keeping my health and wellness a priority. Fast forward to now.
About 16 months ago I hit rock bottom and had enough (again). I went to the local gym I was already a member of but never attended and asked for help. I hired a personal trainer. She was not the right fit for me and about 6 weeks later I moved to a different trainer. He is amazing! He has pushed me so hard, much harder than I thought I ever could.
I've had a successful time of it and have lost a great deal of the weight I had gained back. I believe I am actually stronger than I was when I lost the weight back in 2006-2009. Back then I mainly focused solely on cardio and did very little strength training. At this point I do more weights than I do cardio. My muscle mass is far more extensive than it ever has been. As a result I am not sure if I can get down to 180 which was my original goal weight. We will see what happens. I recently hit 213. I am loving learning powerlifting and just general weight lifting.
I am working on getting back into running because I do really enjoy it. Working through some hip discomfort and figuring out how to balance running with weight lifting. I recently ran a great 3.5 miles on New Years Eve and felt fantastic.
Yesterday I got my wisdom teeth out so I am on some forced rest at the moment which is good too. I will be getting back at it as soon as I can!
