I have done a truly terrible job of keeping up with blogging. I am going to try to do a better job because I love going back and reading my old blogs to see my progress and also to review the things I've done in the past that worked and what didn't work, etc.
My 2018 goals!
-I had decided to postpone starting C25K until I was under 200 lbs. Well, 3 weeks ago I decided I couldn't wait. lol I am going to do W3D2 tonight at the gym. I did finish W3D1 on Monday but I had to take a 30 second walk break during my second 3 minute interval. I have been dealing with severe allergies this whole week and it makes the running intervals so much harder when you can't breathe through your nose. haha I am going to stay on week 3 until I am able to finish all of the running intervals without taking a walk break. I may have to repeat this week but that's okay, slow progress is still progress. So far I am feeling good and am injury free. I have been doing most of my runs on the treadmill (which I hate lol) at the Planet Fitness because it has been raining so much and cold. Hubby and I joined PF around the same time I started C25K and we have gone almost every day to get our 30 minutes of exercise in. March has been a great month so far for exercise!
Lose 100 lbs!
-In February I was stuck in a stall around 250 pounds and was getting pretty discouraged since I had been losing the same 5-10 lbs over and over again. Well just this week I finally reached my 100 lbs lost goal! I am soooooo happy! I have been busting my butt with exercise and being super strict on my diet and I am glad to see it is paying off. 244 was my 100 lbs lost goal weight and I am now at 238.1 lbs. So I'm far enough below it that I feel "safe" I won't gain back over again.
-I am 38 lbs away! Which is 18 lbs closer than I was the last time I did one of these blogs.
Hike a new trail once a month
-I have been on two different trails this month. Last weekend my husband and I went to Pilot Mountain and hiked up there. The weekend before we hiked a trail on Grandfather Mountain which was incredible. They were both short hikes but they were pretty tough & rated as moderate.
Get into a size 12 jeans in Levi's
-In my last blog I was wearing a size 20 in Levi's. Well I am happy to say that I have bought myself a new pair of Levi's in a size 16! I also have a pair of Lucky Brand jeans that I bought from Marshall's in a size 14!!!! I am crazy excited to be wearing a size 14, even if they are a bit snug. They are stretchy and I mean I can breathe in them and they are comfortable to sit in for long stretches of time but they are definitely not loose on me. haha
Make a new friend
-I have looked into several MeetUp events but I haven't gone to anything yet. I have been out of town a lot for work so when I am home I want to spend time with my husband. I'll find something before the end of the year!
Try a new sport
-I still think I'm going to try ice skating again. I've done it before so it's not really "new" to me but I haven't tried to ice skate in about 17 years.
Go to a minor league baseball game
-The first home game for the Winston Salem Dash is on 4/12! I'm going to get with my hubby and see when he wants to go.
-I will have about $500 in savings by next Friday.
Pay off my credit card
-I have finished paying my credit card off! Now to keep the balance at 0, that's the hard part. lol
Buy new running shoes
-Last weekend the hubby and I went to REI and I bought a new pair of hiking boots and a pair of running shoes at their "garage sale" for half of what I would pay for them new. They were both worn once and looked brand new. I LOVE my new hiking boots. They are Lowa Renegade GTXs. I wore them for our hike last weekend and they were so comfortable. The running shoes I got are Hoka One One Clifton 4's. I have only worn them once and they are comfortable but they may be a bit too small. I have enough room at the end of the toe box but my feet were a little sore after I finished my C25K W2D3 workout so I figured it must be the shoes since nothing else had changed.
Brush up on my Spanish with Rosetta Stone & speaking to people fluent in the language.
-I have been neglecting my Duolingo for a while now. I will get back into it as time allows. It is not a priority for me right now. I feel like I barely have time for anything else between working out, meal planning, reading, taking care of my dogs & spending time with my husband after work before I have to go to bed.
Read (or listen to) one non-fiction book every month.
-I've read 6 non fiction books so far this year. I haven't felt like reading any more non fiction lately but I will start again after I finish reading a couple of the fiction books I've been itching to read. I'm currently reading The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss and End of Watch by Stephen King.
Explore my new town by visiting local art museums and tourist attractions.
-I have found several local art museums that I have decided I'd like to go to but I haven't been to any of them yet.
Write a new blog monthly
-Originally I wanted to write a new blog once a week but I quickly realized there was no way that was going to happen. Hopefully I can try to keep up with one a month! I'd like to write more than that but it's difficult to set aside time for blogging.
2018 seems to be chugging along pretty well now. I think I have finally hit my groove with my diet and exercise habits and as long as I can keep up what I'm doing I think my weight loss goals are going to come!
