5% challenge rededication

I'm in my 8th (possibly more) 5% challenge. The first few times I lost motivation about halfway through or just didn't make time for the challenge. That all changed about 8 challenges ago when I finally decided I was GOING to do this. And I did!

Now 8 or more challenges later, I'm finding I need to rededicate myself. I've sort of settled into a routine and aren't putting as much of myself into the challenge as I could. Yes, I'm doing the bare minimum to help my team, getting my exercise minutes and making sure I get most of my living the good life points.

But, in the last few days, I've been doing some inner reflecting and realized that I could be getting MORE out of these challenges if I were to return to that newbie feeling and apply myself.

So, that being said, I'm making a rededication to the challenge and to myself. Up until this point, my exercise minutes have only consisted of walking. And while that is enough of course for racking up minutes, it's not enough to do anything for my weight, and that is the point of the 5% challenge! Lose 5% of my body weight in a specific period of time!

So I'm going to be spending the remainder of this week researching new workouts that might keep my attention for longer than a second, and start next week off strong. I'm still going to be walking daily, getting at least 30 minutes of walking, but I want to start adding in 30 minutes of another activity. Shake things up, and get my body back into fat burning mode.

The last two times I've not made my 5% goal and I've become complacent. That's not acceptable to me. So it's time to shake things up and push myself again.

It also helps that we're finally getting some sunshine! emoticon
