Take your Time!

Wednesday, August 15, 2018

This week at our house is Camp Grammy again. It is the second session this summer! .Our lovely young 8 year old Granddaughter is here for the week.
Ella has attended a variety of different camps this summer and I believe she has been kept very busy.
Ella decided at this session at Camp Grammy we would golf. We have been practicing outside in our yard which is large as we are out in the country.
Most kids and adults like the feeling of hitting the driver and hopefully making the ball travel. But when one is first learning we have to take our time.
Ella found that trying a driver did not work well but by taking out my short irons and showing her how to hit the ball.Suggesting to her that when we slow down and take our time to hit the ball it should be a better shot. She found out it worked well to her surprise and to mine.
Today I took my own advice out on the golf course and took my time with my short irons and made much better shots and I scored well!
If we all take our time in not just golf but in very day life our results will very likely be much better . So, just "Take Your Time!

I agree with your advice especially when learning. A swing too speedy is easy to get "out-of-control". Taking the club back too far can also make us loose control. A steady swing is learned with practice and may be different for each golfer. emoticon
