So long 250s....again

Monday, September 17, 2018

When regaining weight there's always that phrase that runs through our heads.

"It's alright, as long as I don't hit (fill in the blank)"

For me it started with, the 220s, then the 230s, the 240s and promised myself I would never hit the 250s again. When I hit 259 I knew that if I didn't stop I'd be back over 300 this time next year and went back to basics.

Tracking every day and using the information to make sure I was not just staying within my calorie range but eating a healthy balance.

Putting exercise first. Funny how we can always make time to sit and watch a show on TV but there's not the time to exercise.

Weighing in every day. For me that's important and part of my morning ritual. I've tried weighing in once a week or even monthly and it doesn't work for me.

Involving my family in what's going on so they can cheer me on.

Since getting back to what I know works I've lost over 10 pounds and said goodbye to the 250s, again. It was so exciting to see that happen and I let a friend know who struggles with her weight. Her reaction, "That's not real weight, that's just water weight." I smiled and replied, "Trust me, I wasn't retaining water, I was retaining food."

Yes, we make those Devil-deals with ourselves and than keep changing the boundary line. Been there, done that. Glad you are back at it and seeing success.

RE: the 10 pounds - to me that's only water weight if you did some sort of quickie extreme diet that dropped it in a short period of time. Being committed, eating right, exercising and losing 10 pounds is completely different.
