Falling off the Wagon Already or Psyched?
Thursday, January 03, 2019
If you are falling off the wagon, I guarantee you are not committed to lifestyle change- you are dieting and/or you are committed to too many changes at one time and overwhelming yourself. Both scenarios are bound for burn-out.
Imagine diving deep into the water and trying to go as deep as you can fast. You eventually have to come up for air. You will most likely gulp- binge- on air. That’s what fast diets and overwhelming does. We have an aversion to things that are unpleasant, and why wouldn’t we?
Now imagine swimming with an oxygen tank (proper food and water, support and time) and getting to explore the sea. It puts a whole new perspective on things.
Psyched? Yay!!!! Prevent burnout by not dieting or making too many changes at once. Maintain a few changes steadily for one month then add more the following month.
Try to celebrate your good habits rather than weight loss. Put a quarter, dime or decorative stone in a jar for every good choice. Then at the end of the month, you can see the results of your hard work and maybe even have a mini shopping spee.
As always hoping to help!
