5 1/2 years ago I had bariatric surgery and was told at the time that exercise was one of the most important tools and staying at my goal weight. I did exercise right off the bat and average to walk about an hour an hour and a half a day. And my weight stayed at my goal. Then I had my feet operated on and was not able to walk as I had previously. And of course what happened even though I watched every morsel of food that went into my mouth I did put on a few pounds.
This proved to me how important exercise was. I have a treadmill in my basement but I don't get the same kick out of it as I do by walking outside so every morning when I get up I have my first cup of coffee and I head out for my walk and I walk for 2 hours. Then I come home do what I have to do and then take another hour's walk. If the weather doesn't allow me to get out to walk because of being I see I go down and I do my treadmill I have my shows that I like to watch on TV and could very easily be a couch potato but I watch my shows while I'm on the treadmill killing two birds at one time as the saying goes.
I look at each day as a gift and each day that I can exercise and keep my weight at my goal is my gift to myself better health better attitude and a lot more excitement because on those walks it's amazing the people that you meet the things that you see. And for me I call it my bonding with Mother Nature time
