Ignoring Negativity

Saturday, January 19, 2019

Last week I received my first negative comment on a weight loss post. I deleted the comment, tried to block the person who posted it (someone I do not know) but could not access their profile. At first I let it slide, then it began to creep back into my mind and make me question having my journey posted on social media. I haven't posted anything in a week for this reason. I was seeing if taking a social media break would be a good thing. Here is what I learned: 1. It was kind of nice to be free from having to post something inspirational or motivational because it's not always easy to be all sunshine and rainbows. 2. My absence of posts was noticed, especially by my students. It's feels good, and a little creepy, to know that others check in on my progress. 3. That freedom from posting allowed me to slip up and be lazy. I use social media to help keep me accountable. I might not always need it, but right now it helps push me to make better choices. I am posting this side-by-side-by-side pic to remind myself how far I have come! Holy poop nuggets! I have worked hard and I AM PROUD OF MYSELF! I am so excited to see how much stronger and healthier I can be. I am going to continue to focus on ME and not let the negativity of others bring me down. I choose to keep spreading peace and love while fighting windmills (crushing my goals). @peacelovewindmills on Instagram Peace Love Windmills on Facebook

You are an inspiration to so many of us the main reason people try to knock people down is because they are jealous most the people are good but there's always the thorn between the roses just disregard the stupid negative comment it really has nothing to do with you it has to do with their inner self emoticon emoticon you are Amazing my dear friend

It never ceases to amaze me that people can be so cruel to others. I agree with Lizzie138, KrissyDunn, and JRDupree. Some people are jealous and filled with self loathing. It’s wrong to take their unrelated feelings out on you. Keep doing what you’re doing and ignore the haters. You have some much going for you and are worth so much more than that!

You are such an inspiration to me! I too, am on a weight loss journey and have gone down 26# so far, with 48# more to go. Ignore the negative comments whenever possible, and focus on how fantastic you look and how great you feel! Have a wonderful day

You've Got This! I don't understand why someone has to be negative other then they are jealous of your success and realize they could do it too but choose not too. Don't let them get you down. You have every right to be proud of all the hard work you have done.

It is too easy for bullies to hide behind a computer in the world today. Sorry this happened to you but remember you do inspire many people (I am one of them and have followed you on Facebook) and your posts would be missed. You do not have to be sunshine and roses every day as you are human but I do love your enthusiasm for exercise and life.
Thank you for sharing your journey emoticon

I'm so glad you are back emoticon Negative comments are a reflection of how the people feels about themselves- it is not a reflection of you.

You are wonderful, intelligent, beautiful person. Keep taking care of yourself- you are worth it!

    Looking Sparktacular emoticon emoticon

You're like another person, but the same only better. I hope to get there one day - to be fit and feel good about my accomplishments.

You've done the hard work it takes so be proud and know there are more of us positively routing for one another than negative. So proud of you!

Jealousy can cause people to be ugly, and I am guessing whoever knocked you down did it just for that reason. Looking at your progress pictures I too had to exclaim Holy poop nuggets! (reading that in your post made me laugh out loud, so I just had to “borrow” it). 😂 You have made amazing progress, I wouldn’t have recognized you in your first picture, so continue doing what works for you and be Proud of yourself. emoticon

I don’t understand why people feel the need to tear someone down. Ignore the haters. Focus on the positive people out there. I, for one, love to see success stories like yours. You are very motivating to me.

Sorry one of the gremlin people found you.
While they were hurting you... they were giving someone else a break from whatever problem they have that causes them to be mean to others.

Thankfully you are bouncing back... you are doing such a great job of taking care of yourself..
Training yourself to make the "Healthier Choice" most if not all the time is a monumental feat for most of us.
Happy you are on the "Healthy Life-Style" path !!
keep marching to your own drummer.
