Drinking half your weight in water

Tuesday, February 05, 2019

I joined a biggest loser competition at work today. I weighed in at 297 pounds, 3 pounds under my highest weight ever! We were encouraged to drink half our weight in water every day. That is 149 ounces of water a day! I am a big water drinker, but this amount seems excessive. The person in charge of this contest is a dietician so I trust her. Maybe you become so full of water you aren't hungry??

I drank 32 ounces in about 10 minutes and I literally could feel it sloshing in my stomach as I got up and moved around. Needless to say I have been up many times to the bathroom to empty my bladder. I am home for a day off today so this is all easy, I can control everything. I am worried when I have to be at the hospital and take care of patients, will I have time to drink all that water and to also to run to the bathroom.

The nutritionist states that by drinking half your weight in water you boost your metabolism! That sounds like a great thing for me. I am willing to try it. I'm hoping to rev that up!

Hydrate or Didrate, my daughter loves stickers and one of hers says just this. So cheers to you all, I'll be drinking my 18 glasses of water today.

If you need me...

I'll be in the bathroom!

I took some nutrition courses. This is partly right. It is about half your weight but for all fluids, not just water. You also need to pace yourself.

I agree in checking with your doctor. Too much water can be harmful to your health.
