Part ONE: I'm still doin tha thing! Part TWO: Where am I at, and where am I going from here?!?!

It's been a hot minute since I've been in here (pretty darn typical, if I don't say so myself!) haha
But I wanted to stop in and just put down what's transpired in the last month!
I'm still rocking the Keto path, but I've stopped the carb-ups every weekend. I'm now going to carb up only when my trainer sees that my lifts are suffering, and then I will have one carb meal right after my workout. I'm almost to the point that I don't want to bother, but I have read a study that for people with PCOS, sometimes giving a carb boost can be helpful.
I remember the last go-round, that I had a cheat meal every week, and then when I went Keto, I was doing a carb-up every other week. I lost 110 lbs so something worked! I also remember feeling like absolute poop the next day! lol But they were also really dirty carb-ups that included lots of sugar. Ugh. I'm really trying to stay away from sugar. Sweet is still a constant part of my life, and I am EASY PREY for the sweet stuff. I do put Erythritol in my coffee every morning, and I do have a zero sugar/diet pop here and there (not often, and no more than 2x per week), but I also allow myself a little bit of chocolate here, a little sugar free sweet there. It's always a constant, and always something I crave. So I really have to watch myself with it.
So we'll see how things go, how my weight loss goes. I need to remember that I'm NOT going to lose weight every week, and it's OK.
A little part of me is currently thinking - OK! Look at you... you got this now! You found your weight loss mo-jo again and we're rockin! SO WE SHOULD BE 100 LBS DOWN ALREADY WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!?!?! And I have to continue to remind myself that it's going to take time ... and it's going to take LONGER this time, because I'm not starting at 310 lbs this time, I'm starting at 350. So it's not going to take me a year to lose all this weight (as much as I would love it to) lol
I think part of me is antsy with the process because I want to start running again, and I promised myself that I wouldn't start running until I made it under 300 lbs. I set this goal because I don't want to wreck my knees and I need to be smart about it, especially because I'm older this time around and more susceptible to injury. (NO, I know I'm not old - but 10 years can make quite a difference!).
That being said... I can go to the gym with no problem ... yet I'm not doing that yet. So I think adding the gym back into my schedule will help with that antsy-ness. I remember one of the things I really enjoyed from the 'first time around' was that each day I discovered something new that my body could do, and that my mind could accomplish. I read through my old blogs from time to time, and there's quite the theme:
"OH MY GOSH, YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT I DID TODAY, I NEVER THOUGHT I COULD HAVE DONE IT!!!!!!" (with about a billion more exclamation points lol)
I also miss THAT, and need to get my butt back in the gym to start experiencing that again.
I also miss Yoga. I need to find a great class that fits my personality and that will allow me to find that peace that I found in Mexico. That class was magical - so I've got a task ahead of me!
So... with all that in mind, I'm currently sitting at a 33 lb loss since January 1. I have two more weigh-ins to go in March (the 3rd of March counted towards my last Feb weigh-in). My extreme goal is to be at 311 on 3/31. That would mean an average of 3.5 lbs lost per week. That's... a lot. And probably not going to happen! So my moderate (and more attainable goal) is to be at 314, which would be 2 lbs per week (or however it shakes out!). This would see me achieving my first 10% of total weight gone! (35lbs).
I'm also ok if that doesn't happen. I will be disappointed, for sure, but I'm a big girl, and I know this takes time. It doesn't stop me from having grand goals!! But I will also remember that it doesn't always work perfectly. And that it's ok to be disappointed, but to keep. on. going.
So what, might you ask, is my plan?!?! Well let me tell you! :)
Yesterday (Wednesday) I saw my trainer - so 60 minutes of circuit training (that killed me)
Today (Thursday) - if it's not raining, I will go to the park for a 2+ mile walk. If it is raining... then the gym it will be, for some HIIT training.
Friday - I have a night out with my bestie (Going to see School of Rock @ Playhouse Square) - so that'll be an off day
Saturday - if it's nice - PARK! (I love being outside!) if it's not nice - gym for some steady state cardio and a niiiice long stretch session.
Sunday (weigh in day!) - seeing my trainer again (oy!) I have a feeling it's going to be a rough one!
Monday - looks like it might snow a bit - so gym it will be, for another HIIT session.
Tuesday - still looks like it might be in the 30's (brr), so I'll probably hit the Gym again. Steady state today, with lots of stretching.
The rest of the week I plan on getting to the park and upping my mileage day by day. It's going to be in the mid 50's (might touch into the 60's eeee!) so that'll be really really nice!
Wednesday - 2 miles
Thursday - 2.5 miles
Friday - 3 miles
Saturday - clean my apartment day! lol
Sunday - final weigh in for March - Circuit training w/ PT.
So there it is... THE PLAN. Now, the goal is to stick to it! ;)
have a wonderful rest of your week, and a killer weekend everyone!
