5% - a slow start

Tuesday, October 08, 2019

so yea, my 5% challenge is having a slow start :( I caught a virus and couldn't go too far from a toilet. My appetite is weird and so is my sleep. It all got me quite depressed. Ugh! Always something. Hopefully I will get better soon and find some energy! :)

I returned the fitbit. I am not a watch wearer and while it was very interesting to observe my metrics, especially the sleep patterns! I thought it was a lot of money sitting on my wrist when I actually need other things, like renewing my gym membership and pants! AH! I am more looking for a watch to use when I'm active, not at all times. I used to have a great Garmin, but I sold it because it was overkill for what I was doing.

I'm starting from the beginning again, I need to relearn to cook, to relearn enjoying cooking. I've been eating the same very simple thing every day for more than a year..

Life is going at the same time too fast and too slow.

I used an Omron pedometer for a long time. I am sorry you have been sick. I bet your fresh start is just what you need!

Sorry you're sick, but better the first week when we start off slow - just exercise and water.
If you aren't looking for a step-counter, just heart rate, maybe learn to take your own pulse and track that since heart monitors are almost as expensive as fitbits.

Sorry you were sick- I hope you are feeling better! What about a heart rate monitor? I used to have one years ago, I just wore it when I exercised. If you dont care about your steps during the day, and only your heart rate and calories burnt during exercise, this might work good for you.
I had to love to cook again too- I was eating out way too much just a few months ago. Now we rarely ever eat out. I actually rather cook at home now- the food tastes so much better.

Hello MOLLIEMAC! Thank you for your comments on my blog posts, always appreciated!

I am not so much into steps but what interests me the most is my heart rate and calories burnt during exercise. I'll start by moving and then i'll worry about it I guess, haha :)

Why don't you check out a pedometer? Omron has a good one for about $25, clips to a belt or pant's pocket at waist level.
Hope you are feeling better very soon.
