Trip to San Diego to see my Marine

Wednesday, October 16, 2019

Trying to get back into the swing of things after a weeks long vacation out in beautiful San Diego!

We toured numerous beaches, National monuments, Old Town, hiked Torrey Pines, toured USS Midway, ate lots of good Mexican, etc.... Everyday was full of lots of walking as we filled each day with the sights of the city.

My favorite part of the whole trip.... Getting a hug from my boy!

After not seeing him or hearing his voice for 3 months, I finally got to hug my son! It was the best hug ever! I have cried many tears over these last few months and the tears I shed on Thursday and Friday last week were pure joy! My son... My United States Marine!

He went through a lot over these last 3 months. He is the same Andrew but he is changed. He was always militant even growing up. He always had good manners for the most part. But now after bootcamp he seems even more grown up, respectful, grateful, responsible.... I can't wait to see where he goes from here!

We only have him for 10 days which ends this coming Tuesday. I am enjoying every second!

Congrats for your son being a Marine. Thank him for joining to serve our country. They do seem to be more grown up after boot camp. They work them hard those months. Remember only a few are chosen to be Marines, many can't pass the grueling boot camp and fail.

That's awesome! It's so wonderful to see our sons grow into men. And a good man to boot!
