Trim Healthy Mama

I have been stalled in my weight loss for quite a while. It's time to face that fact that what I have been doing isn't working very well and to try something different. A couple of years ago I bought the Trim Mama book and it made sense to me, but seemed like a lot of work and eating things I'm not crazy about. However, all the research I've done and the science at the weight loss clinic I attended a couple of years ago indicate that insulin resistance is the real reason for weight gain. So I've stocked up on a few new products and will commit myself to the THM (trim healthy mama) plan for one full month to see what happens. I should probably give it two months.

The essence of the plan is never mix fuels. So you can have a carb meal or a healthy fat meal, but you never mix carbs and fat. So in one meal you could have bread with no butter and another meal you could have butter but no bread. We'll see how it goes.

Because the plan doesn't allow carbs and fats I can't always use regular pasta. Since I bought the books, I've discovered that I do like konjac noodles. I can also use cauli-rice for some meals. John and I didn't like the cauli-rice as much as real rice, but I guess I can get used to it.

I may have to do the plan longer than one month since it's not something I'm familiar with, but it does make sense to me. That and my bio-med daughter says it does make sense. So wish me luck and I'm off to see if there's a TMH team on Sparks.
