Setbacks are hard to accept

Wednesday, February 19, 2020

Yes, I know it happens to everyone, but it is so hard to accept. We work so hard to take off the weight and then one extravagant weekend can blow all the progress you made.

It was my anniversary. I've been married to the same man for 29 years, and I wanted to celebrate. We got a nice room at the beach and had dinner with friends and a reasonable Sunday brunch. There were two adult beverages involved and BOOM! my Tuesday weigh-in showed a weight gain of FIVE POUNDS! It takes 2-3 weeks to take off 5 pounds and it just jumps right back. I just want to cry! Even if I do manage to meet my goal, how can I keep it off? Can I never indulge just a little bit ever again???

Sigh....I know I can lose it again...and I will. They tell me that my impedance measurements show that no "fat" was gained. Probably just water and waist due to the high sodium in mixed drinks. I hope so. .......Back to the gym!

I am inclined to think most of that is water weight because of the temporary dietary changes. Don't sweat it and keep on going!
