Returning after 3 years!

Today I decided to return to tracking my nutrition after a 3 year hiatus! I've actually done sort of okay on my own weight-wise and have lost 18 pounds. however, I should have lost much more than that and now I have pre-diabetes and high cholesterol. I have chosen to begin a low carbohydrate diet to lose this belly fat and hopefully control these conditions.
I started 2 weeks ago, and feel I have done well, however I've only lost the 3 or 4 pounds I gained on a camping trip. I did discover one interesting thing while researching possible reasons for the meager loss. Metamucil sugar free is not really keto friendly!! evidently one needs to look out for sugar free products that contain malodextrin.
I instead bought some pure psyllium husk at the health food store. I think it may help kick me into ketosis.
Oh, and I still struggle with my wine! I simply cannot give it up. I've given myself a mini goal involving this: I must lose 5 pounds before I can open my expensive bottle of merlot!
