Hello fall

Monday, September 28, 2020

This week I've logged 20KM so far in walks and runs. Yesterday Jeff and I headed into the city and walk around Stanley park. I love it there this time of year, not crowded, beautiful colours and a nice long walk.

We talked about a lot of things and helped get rid of a bit of stress I had let build up for a few days, by the end of the three hours of walking my mind felt clearer. We had stopped in a gift shop to pick up some shirts I had seen last year and wanted to get his parents for Christmas. One thing about self isolating, I got a lot of Christmas shopping done. That's a good thing right?

This morning I woke up to a thick fog and was so excited. I LOVE LOVE LOVE running on the trails in the fog. I quickly ran and got dressed, gave my husband a quick kiss goodbye and drove out to the lake. The lake is 10 minutes away. By the time I got there the fog had lifted. Now most people would be happy, it was a beautiful clear day, crisp fall weather and the trail was empty but I was a little sad I didn't get out there in time. I still did a 5K run and brought my time down a tiny bit.

A few days ago I dug into a project to start finishing rooms. BC (Before Covid) the plan was to finish the inside of our renovated home, last year we focused on the addition, getting the wiring and plumbing updated. Which means I've been staring at unfinished drywall for months and I got to the point where I needed to do something.

I took a very small budget of $300 and dug into the living room. I framed the unfinished windows, primed and wallpapered the feature wall. I huge shelves, installed lighting, built the TV stand and put down baseboards. I have never in my life been so excited about baseboards before. I now have one finished wall. Next I'm going to teach myself to mud and tape so I can finish the other walls in the living room before tackling the completely unfinished dining room. Oh and I installed a bathroom door. A year of a curtain and the two of us shouting, "I'm in the bathroom!" officially has come to an end.

Before, looking from our kitchen to the living room

Birch tree wallpaper. I want to bring nature inside and loved how this came out.

We finally finished putting the siding up.

Hard to believe we started with this last year. Then again, that's how I feel about my body sometimes!

Tomorrow is another date with my husband, he took an extra day off so we could get out during the week and go walking.

Down from size 20 to 18, lots of 16 starting to fit but JUST fit so you know, yes I can get them of but no I shouldn't leave the house wearing them.
