Climbing Kilinney Hill

This place holds a great deal of significance for me because it was my 'battle back' destination after my spine damage. It's not particularly high compared with many places. It takes around 30-40 mins to climb to the top, less if you are fit.

It took me considerably longer with rests and seated intervals.

Oh, but it was worth it. The air was clean; the sun shone and you could see way over Dublin Bay.

This picture holds pride of place at the front of the file where I keep info and articles about health. What I remember, when I look at this, is not to give up. It took a lot of small steps to get to the top but small steps can add up to a big victory.
