Just keep moving

Wow, where did November go? It's been a pretty good month, very active. It started with my husband I taking off for a three day hiking trip. IT WAS AMAZING! We were off the grid for most of it, hiking almost 40KM in two days and saw some pretty amazing sites. Apologizes for the sideways photos, still no computer so don't get a preview to adjust.

Once back we took a few days to come down from what we'd accomplished. My husband had never hiked that distance before, he was pretty proud of what he had accomplished and wants to do more. It really help him reset his eating habits and want to be healthier which makes me so happy.

As the month went on there was more social distancing, early in the morning before the trails got to people on them. I have a hiking buddy which has really helped and I started an Instagram blog as an extra motivational tool (twobroadshiking). My weight has continued to tick down, not fast but consistent. I'm good with that.

A couple of days ago I went on a hike that I never thought I'd accomplish. After we hiked to the top of the large falls we started by walking through a smaller waterfall and stream and from there we navigated down the embankment, climbed down boulders and trees for 5KM. There was no trail, only red markets to let you know you weren't lost (yet).At one point I stood in a waterfall looking out at the forest and realizing we had hiked above the fog. All totalled we hiked 11KM and spent over a day on a hikers high of what we had accomplished.

Like so many others I'm missing my family so much and hiking has really helped me keep a clear mind and stay healthy. I video chat all the time with my kids and grandkids but oh what I wouldn't do for a hug! I am so thankful I got my act together and started focusing on my healthy lifestyle again. We've got a sunrise hike planned for tomorrow, should be fun.
