A peek into the point of view of others

Saturday, February 06, 2021

The WEC is here and I am tasked with blogging about “What am I doing right this BLC”. When given a prompt to blog about I often find myself with a bad case of writer's block and this morning is no exception. My scale has gone up this morning and the incentive to reflect has gone down. Faced with some reticence in exploring my gain I have decided to look outwardly to see what others see and derive motivation by looking through the eyes of others. Sometimes, a different set of eyes is all we need.

When asked what they saw me doing right this BLC here are their responses:

Gary (DH)
“I would have to say exercise. Even if you have a bad day eating the exercise will help even it out as long as you are consistent”
My take away - “Yes! I have been trying new exercises and doing ST which I never incorporate into my daily exercise. It is an improvement and I will look and feel better for it!”

Lexi (DD)
Saying no when it is not the right time to eat or saying no when it is not the right food to eat. You don’t deprive yourself and still say yes on occasion but 90% of the time you say no.
My take away - I have been good at this. Sometimes I slip but I have been able to get right back on track.

John (DD’s Boyfriend)
You have been consistent in getting at least 6,000 steps a day.
My take away - I have been consistent with my walking. I have also been careful to monitor my planters fasciitis when needed. My goal is usually 10-12 thousand a day but I have lowered my goal to 6,000 to allow for healing when needed.

These are all things I have been working on and I can definitely see that I have been consistent. Now I need to take all that insight and apply it even when I don’t want to. I have done it for the first four weeks and I can continue to do it and...

I will.

What a great idea. We are so often critical. We can always do better and sometimes that keeps us from seeing what we are doing right. This is a journey and I have realized that most of this journey isn't about weight at all. It's about who we are and who we want to be. You are doing great Nicole. So glad we are on this journey together. emoticon
