First, thank you for all of the likes and comments on my last blog! I'd love to thank each of you individually, but time is not on my side right now!

I was asked, as a part of a challenge to write a blog about what I am doing right.

to get to that, I have to acknowledge what I am doing wrong and it is not putting me first! While I was losing, I put myself first, made time for daily exercise, cooked meals at home, rested, etc. I'm not doing that now!

work went all sideways when my supervisor told me we were switching text books 4 days before classes started. I expected to teach one class, but also learned I was teaching 2! Luckily, it was 2 sessions of the same class! So, I've been fighting non-blind friendly computer programs and creating and posting brand new info and assignments for the classes! I also tutor math and try to at least exercise some!

But, I am NOT caring for myself!

So, lately while not truly caring for myself, I am doing better at making healthier food choices, I have walked every day, I do drink my water each and every day! That is one habit I have stuck to consistently. I am doing more stretching and yoga now other than walking and it is being kind to me! Also, a big what I am doing right is seeing where I am falling short in my route to better health and a happier weight has given me points from where to get back on track!
Thanks for reading!

Well done for adapting your teaching, that’s hard enough on it’s own without trying to put yourself first and losing weight. Keep adding those little habits back, one by one and it will be there... you have already done the groundwork!

The pressure on teachers with on-line learning and fears of Co-vid is horrendous. It is harder to put yourself first when you see how all the other teachers are just trying to get through. My wish is that all teachers would put themselves first during this time and not feel selfish. Glad you are keeping up with the walking and drinking water. You rock! emoticon

Too many changes at one time create so much confusion and difficulty with not just organization but with just basic daily function. You are doing so well ..you recognize the where you need to improve and are concentrating on moving in that direction. Hugs...always !

OH WOW!! Last year the teacher I work with had started a new program. There were days she'd be trying to hard to quickly get it together and be enthusiastic so the kiddo's would be. It's the 2nd grade. YO that you had to make such changes so FAST!!! Indeed no teacher regardless ever gets enough pay!! We've EASILY found out, we do NOT Need professional sport figures (LOL Many of us where to HAPPY TO NOT have a large number of them on tv 24/7! LOL) We also found on many social media's that there are TONS of very talented, non professional people who do amazingly well with songs, we got by FINE without so many people, things. BUT We NEED our teachers, Dr's, Nurses, essential workers who kept essential retail places open, delivery trucks, mail etc, first responders, fire , police.

Good thinking blog it's so easy when under stress to put ourselves last. We are here with you!

Teaching, I salute you, I couldn't do it, your profession is just as underpaid and overworked and underappreciated as Nursing, please keep up with putting yourself first, more often than not.Hugs!!!
