February Challenge Day 18

I haven’t been writing in my journal, but I have been following my schedule:
- ate clean (I did increase my caloric intake a bit to, hopefully, give my metabolism a boost)
- exercised according to my schedule
- kept moving throughout the day
Additionally, I have been stretching more. I am doing these stretching exercises that are supposed to help me get to do a side split. I was never able to do one of those and I figured: why not try? I have nothing to lose! There are many studies showing how important and how good stretching is for us. I don’t have a precise goal in mind (like “I want to do side splits in 30 days“). I don’t even care if I will ever be able to do them. I just want to increase my flexibility (though surprising people with a split would be cool! 😂😂😂).
I have also been reading about how having to big of a caloric deficit might actually be detrimental in the long run (especially for petite women). So I have decided to take it slowly. I will continue to eat clean, but not starve myself. I will continue to exercise. I want to be able to do all of those exercises in good form, I want to be as gracious as those fitness models (no, I could never be one, nor do I want to; my body is what it is and I love it as is and I am fine with the fact that it will never be like a fitness model’s). I want to get stronger and leaner. And I want to restart running as soon as spring comes.
So, if the scale doesn’t cooperate, but the tape does, good for me! Enjoy the journey, not just de destination, right? 😁💪
