Sneaky, silent...High Blood Pressure creeps on you...and I wasn't expecting it.

'Anything I can do naturally?' I ask.
'Well, there are some lifestyle changes, but...' replies my GP, looking quizzically at me over her glasses.
'No-one tends to stick to them.' She reaches for the prescription pad but also hands me a glossy leaflet.

I want to make it clear that my GP is the medical expert and I will follow her advice. However I'm Captain Tenacious, when it comes to reading about things, so the following weapons are being included in my personal armory for March, April and beyond. In no particular order...

Exercise: 30-40 mins or 4 lots of 10 mins moderate cardio x 5 days a week emoticon
Meditate/Yoga/ Tai Chi/ Relaxing music: 10-15 mins every day emoticon
Sleep: Aim for 7-8 hrs emoticon
Weight: Drop 5 lbs emoticon
Reduce salt; Add Potassium (banana; avocado; leafy greens; sweet potato; pulses. Read up on the DASH eating plan. emoticon emoticon
Reduce caffeine intake. I cup a.m. then decaff; herb teas. No diet cola... repeat... no diet.... emoticon
Add Oats; garlic; beet juice; hibiscus tea; Omega 3s; CoQ10 emoticon
And here's the good bit.... 2 squares (Hey, a whole bar is a rectangle!) of good quality 72-90% cacao dark chocolate EVERY DAY. emoticon
