Looking back at 15 years on Spark

I joined the Spark community on 6 April 2008. I've learned a lot and tried a lot of plans. Some worked quite well. I've lost hundreds of pounds over the years. Re-gains are devastating. Life happens. Sometimes I disappeared for time to regroup, then on to the next plan. I never gave up hope.

In 2019 I stumbled on intermittent fasting and it's been a game changer. Very liberating. It doesn't tell me WHAT to eat; it tells me WHEN to eat...and I pick the eating window that suits me. Later I added planned water fasting days for the health benefits, including weight loss. I am excited about my plan. It has given me hope that I can reach goals and live healthy. Persistence, not perfection. No guilt.
Thank you for riding along with me all these years. Lots of great support and encouragement here. You have made my life richer.

Advice from all these years of experience: Our bodies don't lose weight and inches on our schedule. But we can work with our bodies to make conditions right for that to happen. Be patient.
Design a plan that you feel good about. Keep it simple. If it doesn't work, change it. It's your life and your plan. Ignore the naysayers. NEVER give up.
