Today’s my first 5k!

I have always wanted to run a 5K, but never knew even where to start. So after a lot of research I have determined to start with baby steps. My first goal was to walk a 5K, so I started walking every day and building up stamina. I was very sluggish in the beginning. Once I felt more capable I wanted to sign up for my first 5k, but the idea of doing one with all the experienced runners/walkers intimidated me. So a friend encouraged me to sign up for a virtual 5K, and I discovered that was a perfect idea for my first time. I’m still accomplishing my goal, I’ll use my time from today to set future goals, and it helps build my confidence. I know one day I will run an actual 5k with all the experienced runners/walkers, and I will be proud when I accomplish my ultimate goal. Today I will be just as proud though because I am walking in my first 5k, and without this I could never achieve my ultimate goal.
