Quick Note, Checking In

Sorry I have been AWOL so much of late. Busy trying to get outdoor work done while we can still burn. Soon it will be too hot and dry for that. Our garden prep is also happening when it is too windy for a fire; the cold weather crops are coming along nicely and things are already prepped in better shape than usual for the rest of the plantings when it is time.
The outdoor work is good for mental health and physical fitness and sometimes leads to better sleep as well, but that is not consistent. Nature has a calming effect for certain. We have been rewarded with visits/glimpses of bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, flocks of wild turkeys, killdeer, turtles, lizards, a variety of songbirds, herds of deer, two different species of rabbits, small rodents, multiple species of woodpeckers, flickers, jays, robins, juncos, towhees, varied thrushes, and of course grey-diggers and ground squirrels. We are not so fanatic in our efforts that we don't pause to appreciate our co-habitants.
I sense that many voices have been less prolific and more sporadic here. I hope it means people are tending to their own needs and taking good care of themselves. In my case, just because I am quiet doesn't mean I have quit or don't care. I value the encouragement, support, and camaraderie I have experienced here and always hope I can pay that forward to another Sparkler.
Go for you wildest dream target today!
Peace and Care
