kayaking the first time

Monday, April 19, 2021

Wow , finally got to go! I have wanted to do this for a long time... i couldn't get any one to go with me... i really didn't think it was a solo sport... I made it! My granddaughter came for a visit. So cool she wanted to kayak with me... I can check it off my bucket list! The bridge above me is the Perrine Bridge and you can legally jump from it. Everyday that it isn't windy u will c jumpers doing it... their parachutes make a loud snap as they open, It was awesome to c that from a different angle. They make it look so easy . I asked about a tandem jump, no one was there that was qualified to do that, bummer! I was feeling so adventuresome ... maybe some time i will... , sorry couldn't load the pic here but it is on my page

Nice story. Glad you were able to kayak and you liked it! I used to kayak more, but due to circumstance have not been able to in recent years. . I miss it . It is a peaceful activity. Thanks for sharing your story.

Love your story. There was a small no wake lake in my former town. I use to take my grandson Kayaking a few years ago. He was about 10. It was awesome. We could manage them by ourselves and had a great time. Every time I see a Kayak I think of him. I really miss that!

That is awesome you got to kayak! (I am too chicken to jump off a bridge--but in my youth, I did lots of crazy things, so who knows---I may have!

There can never be too much kayaking in the world. emoticon emoticon

I looked up the Perrine Bridge. Wow! Eighth highest bridge in the US. And the Snake looks like a really big river. Never been on that one.. Yet. emoticon

emoticon and emoticon And what a great memory to make with your granddaughter. Water sports are definitely better with a friend / watcher! Even solo open water swimmers I know, training longer than anyone they know... take a "watcher" with them, either from shore or in a kayak.

When I saw your title, I had to check it out right away including the picture on your page.
We LOVE kayaking. We have 6 of various types and sizes.
Not sure anything would get me to jump from a bridge though. LOL
I remember watching bungee jumpers off a bridge over the Danube. Not even tempted.
