53 and Restarting Again with Simple Goals

I had my 53rd birthday over the weekend. This birthday more then ever reminded me that I should be actively caring for my health. Over the last 18 months 3 of my children have had major health crises. That combined with COVID and caretaking for my 84 year old mother made me forget to do the simple things I know that I need to do to be healthy.

Spark people was a great source for motivation in the past so I am back, ready to roll up my sleeves and get healthier.

I am not at a terrible starting point. I need to loose 10 to achieve a healthy BM! but I would like to loose 15. I am active, my step tracker says that I do 12000-14000 steps most days but would like to add strength training and stretching back in. I have a lot of aches and pains that could be solved by exercise. I don't eat junk food, smoke or drink but I also don't eat fruits and vegetables regularly.

My simple starting goals for April 25-May 31
1. Walk and stretch daily working up to 5 miles of brisk hiking.
2. Follow Trim Healthy Mama food plan
3. Eat 5 fruits and vegetable servings per day.
