Freggies...canned pineapple?

Friday, May 07, 2021

Our Spark Team from the Spring 5% challenge is working on including a serving of vegetables or fruit with our breakfast this week. I think our team leaders site research that people don't always get all the "freggies" they need in a day.

I have not paid as much attention to my breakfast this winter and spring, but I can start watching again. For today, I mixed a little Greek yogurt with small curd cottage cheese and some pineapple chunks from a can. It was tasty! And I logged the breakfast in the SP food log:

And now for a 700+ caloried confession. After attending an award ceremony -- outside, a beautiful sunny day -- I went to sonic with my family. I ordered a LARGE banana shake. I did log it in yesterdays SP food log...and here is the "damage":

I need to plan for spurges like this. Plan A...order a small and eat it s-l-o-w-l-y.

I used to eat cottage cheese and crushed pineapple for lunch all the time back in my working and WW days,
I'm not sure I was ever a big fan of cottage cheese and now I never eat it. Guess I got my fill way back when! emoticon
OUCH - A large shake - especially with banana which is a bit higher calorie - sure does do some damage! I am once again enjoying some Dutch chocolate frozen yogurt - 90 calories for a half cup - which I haven't had for some time but did eat regularly while losing weight. Finding a lower calorie frozen treat is easier than it used to be and helps us to not feel deprived when we want 'something'.
The one thing about splurging on your shake is you have learned from the experience and will be more mindful the next time you want to have a shake or some other kind of treat.

Surprising, isn't it? Have you ever looked at the nutritional value of Buffalo Wings menu? I was blown away! In comparison, your banana shake is tame! We have a gift card but won't be ordering from there any time soon!
