Walking in the Woods

Today is my day to do what I want. This is my Mother's Day gift from my husband-choosing the activity of the day. We're going for a walk in the woods and enjoying the peace, the quiet, and the beauty. I have read that walking in nature boosts endorphins, the feel-good chemicals in your brain. When you feel overwhelmed, go outside and walk for a few minutes. You'll be amazed at how much better you'll feel.
This is my form of meditation and prayer. Nature is a church for me. Nature is a haven. This is where my blood pressure lowers and I find health. This is where I feel settled and happy.
My sons have sent their gifts and will give me a call. Thank God for a good cell phone. I'll take the call while I'm hiking.
