Some blue flowers for Ellen 😉

Tuesday, May 11, 2021

A stiff breeze was blowing away blackflies today so my Walking Buddy and I went for a stroll.

The violets were out

...even some white ones

...and forget-me-nots

...and bluebells

...and vinca under the daffodils

...these are leaning toward magenta, but I’m counting them anyway.

We also have some flowers with yellow, going on:

...including these, of which we enjoyed steamed leaves with dinner last night. Tasty with a little balsamic vinegar drizzled over them.

According to Wikipedia, they were brought to North America on the Mayflower for their medicinal benefits. I wonder whether my ancestor Richard Warren liked them? Did they even have balsamic vinegar in Plimoth?
