Lovewell Mt Hike
Monday, May 17, 2021
Yesterday was the perfect day for a hike! The temperature started in the low 50's and rose to the high 60's as we hiked along. The black flies did not bother us until the end. The sun was shining, and there was a light breeze. I found a hiking hat that I had worn many years ago, and wore it.
The tinder dry forest floor littered with crunchy Spruce Cones. The trail was peaceful and we enjoyed the quietness of the day. We only met 5 people on the trail during our 6 hours in the woods.
We reached the summit and rested for a while. I love the views and the calm of reaching our destination!
There's a carin on the summit that marks the summit best. The plaque on this carin commemorates a man who kept the Greenway Trail in good repair. He took his life about 10 years ago. Life can get hard at times. I remind myself not to take life too seriously when I feel down.
Lovewell Mt via Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway is a 3.9 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Washington, New Hampshire that offers scenic views. The trail is rated as moderate.
