a joke of my Dad's
Saturday, June 05, 2021
When I was growing up, we had a grocery store in a country area.
Some people would take candy and not pay. Just small items. My Dad did not like that. He put a dish near the register with chocolate candy and Exlax pieces.
I don't remember if anyone actually ate it.
He had a huge display case of all kinds of candies.
My Mom hated it because she'd have to stand and wait for kids to choose the candy they wanted.
We only "manned" the store when there were customers. The door had a bell to let up know if any customers came in.
We had so much stuff in the store, People came from all over just to see Leo's Grocery Store.
