I found out about SP site closing this AM. and have started asking questions from SP. I don't t get all these posts looking for new programs before checking out Spark America. The last time I saw this behavior was during the last election, with pols talking about rats deserting a sinking ship . Change is hard. At 77 I am well aware of that but I am going to give the new SP a fair shot and time to work out the bugs. If it should turn out that SP has become beholden to the corporations that sponsor them, THEN I will reevaluate my decision. Until then I have nothing to lose by trying this new app. To those that bail, good luck finding whatever you are looking for.

I personally do not plan on pursuing SparkAmerica for various reasons. My friends, the bonds I've made from people of other countries are not included in the new site. Back in 2007 when I first joined SP things were simple, everyone was included and now they are not. I suppose the added insult was the title of their departing/farewell article "It's not goodbye". Excuse me ... for non US subscribers, it is goodbye. Their support system is being pulled out from under them. It just leaves a sour/bitter taste.

I have signed up for SparkAmerica after checking several options. I think once they get up and running the site will offer items similar to SparkPeople and hopefully be able to include our friends not located in the USA. I have also signed up for the Facebook page where many Sparkers are now chatting with one another. I will also remain on SparkPeople until they kick me off. Change is hard but in today’s world it just happens. I feel you just have to learn to roll with the punches and be thankful for all SparkPeople has done for us through the past.

many of us have checked out the new site. NO international users, no blog, no personal pages, no community. what is the point. And it is ALL about corporations and which one you work for. Most other tracking apps are better than Spark, without the community, there is no point
