just sayin’ … quilting lesson

Quilting lesson 101 … measure accurately 7 times … AND measure one more time.

Cut once.

Measuring is very important when piecing together a quilt top that creates a pattern.

Consistency, consistency, consistency.

Sound familiar???

As I follow behind BFF in her piecing together a quilt top she was making for her granddaughter … measuring and consistency … well, BFF musta forgot the first lesson.

She complained of how the top was “growing” at a slant.

I have taken apart allllll 22 rows BFF had sewn together … re-measured, added where needed and then re-sewn the rows back together. Whew.

I created six rows today from start to finish and attached them. Lo and behold … I’m getting there.

Losing weight.

Weigh, measure … weigh, measure. Consistency, consistency, consistency.

Got it.

Rough diamonds may sometimes be mistaken for worthless pebbles.
