Happy New Year!!!!
Well, here I am, back at it again. :)
Yesterday morning I weighed 122.3 lbs but this morning I'm only 120.3. I suspect the truth is somewhere in between. I'll leave my current weight as 122 though - that way any loss will seem greater. ;P
So, I enjoyed life and ate whatever I wanted over the 3-4 weeks of Christmas season. I had been down to 118 (yay me!) but it crept back up about a lb a week. It's kind of scary to see how easy it would be to gain weight again. I suppose I am relegated to dieting for the rest of my life. Sigh. I will always take breaks from it - summer time, Christmas time, or on vacations. That's why I'm not really starting back again in earnest until next Monday when I go back to work. The hubby and I are going away for a couple of days tomorrow and I really won't want to be counting calories while I'm gone.
I joined the gym after Christmas and I've twice so far. Going to head down again today and most likely again next Sunday when I get back. I totally overdid it on the first day while I was trying to figure out my 1 rep max for squats. I could barely walk for 3 days afterward. Dork. I went back when I was still a bit sore but skipped the squats and took it easy on the leg press. I felt really great the next day so that must have been good for me. Just a bit sore in the upper body which is to be expected.
I am trying to do the workout from the Triathlete's Bible. I want to go to the gym 3X a week and I'll be swimming with a coach on Monday and Wednesday for the first 3 weeks of January. Then I'll have to try to fit in one or two swims a week if I can.
I go for my orthotics fitting today and should get the inserts next week. I am absolutely chomping at the bit to get back running and I have a gradual entry plan all set up. In the meantime, I will try to do lots of stretching and core stuff to get ready.
I have the trainer set up in the basement and although I haven't ridden it in 2 weeks, I do plan to get back at that next week as well. If all goes well, I'll be doing one workout a day, about 6-7 hours a week.
I think the key to getting the workouts in during the week is to get to bed earlier. I don't like to go to bed alone so I tend to stay up with DH. We've talked a bit about this and he's willing to head to bed earlier and read a bit if it will help me.
Well, that's it for now. I think I have a pretty good plan set out - just have to figure out which days to do what now but it's all doable.
Happy New Year Everyone!!!!
