Have been with Sparkpeople since Jan'10, have lost about 40 pounds,relocated to Cleveland area and joining your team. Here are 10 things about me many people don't know,or choose to ignore ...

1. Plan vacation destinations by food and drink terroir and prefer to travel alone and stay at hostels so I have a kitchen to prepare foods I find at the local markets.
2. Work in food industry but prepare my own foods at home and do not enjoy eating out at most restaurants.
3. Know a lot about food and nutrition but portion size is elusive.
4. If I do not travel once a year I get restless and irritable. Need to break routines!
5. I have a Looney Light - can attract any strange/derranged person within a mile radius no matter where I am.
6. Prefer being with strangers in a strange locale over spending time with people I know in familiar settings.
7. 6 moves in 10 years with a couple being transatlantic. (explains point 6?).
8. I only spent a total of 6 weeks with my husband before we married but I had known him for 20 years. (sounds like a math word problem)
9. I am working on perfecting the art of planned spontaneity to keep my husband entertained.
10. My motto: Veni, Vidi, Vici (thanks Ceasar).

Hi Becky - I travel a lot for my job too. The best advice I can give you for fast food places is to check their online menus and pick out a couple different options for healthy meals with calories listed out (and the lowest calories may be a kids cheeseburger. :) ). Write out those meals on index cards and keep them in your car.

Put together menus for the fast food places you encounter frequently. Instead of spending time looking at the menu board, just pick one of your cards and your decisions are already made with the foods you know you're going to like.

I'm Becky

1. I have two daughters. They're 2 and 6
2. Boyfriend of 6 years. I gained the weight from becoming to comfortable after moving in together
3. Being over-weight runs in my moms side of the family in the females.. so I'm trying to change that.
4. I also need to improve my health because I also have (lack of) excellent healthy genes.
5. I don't think people realize I'm serious that I want to lose some weight
6. I try to find a reason why everything is healthy (do not ask me what I say about pizza even though I know now that the one slice I ate yesterday is 300 calories :-(
7. Its hard not eating fastfood at my job. I do home healthcare with mentally disabled and constantly on the go.. I'm going to work on getting the salads instead even though I -love- cheeseburgers and fries
8. Grew up in Cleveland. Lived in Lakewood for the past couple of years but just bought a house in Cleveland
9. Chocolate is my biggest weakness. I have fudge bars in he freezer (40calories), Hersheys in the cabinet
10. Did I forget chocolate milkshakes.. Mmmmm.. This is going to be harder than I thought

1.) I am a mom of 5 amazing kids (8,7,7,2,1)
2.) I am a full time student at Tri-c right now planning to move on to either Case or Bw soon.
3.) I have been overweight since I can remember.
4.) I have an amazing fiance that "loves me the way I am"
5.) I can not love myself the way I am.
6.) I am new to spark but I am really liking what I have seen so far.

Hello! I'm Kim. I'm not entirely new to SP, but this is the beginning of trying again. So, 10 things about me...

1) I'm a grad student at Case
2) I turned 30 in January (yay!)
3) I grew up in Columbus, but my family is all from Cleveland, so I spent a fair amount of time up here growing up
4) I don't much care what the number on the scale says or what size my clothes are, so long as I'm healthy
5) I have asthma and ADD- just a little extra challenge for me!
6) I'm a big Indians and Browns fan :o)

Hi everyone! I'm new to sparks but not new to weight loss. So here goes...

1. I'm in Parma via Pittsburgh
2. I'm a Cleveland sports fan (yes, including the Browns)
3. I've lost my weight with gastric bypass and weight watchers - approximately 190 lbs to date.
4. I'm married to an incredibly supportive man.
5. Hubby and I are owned by a very moody cat.
6. I am the youngest of 6 kids (hence the 6 of 6)
7. I travel a lot for work, currently I'm traveling back and forth between Cleveland and Los Angeles.
8. I've been overweight since the age of 4 or 5 so being a normal, healthy adult weight is all new to me.
9. I've come to realize that life is too short to not tell people that make a difference how much they mean to you while they're still with you.
10. I'm scheduled for a complete body lift in late May (it'll be done in two stages with the second being in late June).

That's it - that's me.

Hi Everyone! I am Chrystal and I am just Starting Sparkpeople.

Here are 10 things about me:
1. I live in North Royalton with my boyfriend and our dog Bailey
2. I work for Travelers Insurance
3. While I am not engaged yet, my boyfriend has decided that we will be getting married 10/9/10 (alk about putting the cart in front of the horse)
4. I ran track through high school and college
5. I have thyroid problems, which have made it even harder for me to lose weight
6. I grew up in Youngstown, OH and then was adopted and moved to Columbiana OH
7. I moved to Cleveland to be closer to my brother, but he was recently moved to Arizona for work.
8. I have a 2 year old nephew and another one due in 1 month
9. My goal is to get back into shape so that I can get back into competitive running
10. I used to be incredibly skinny becuase I was bulimic. When I tried to get over that, I went the total opposite way and now I am an emotional eater.

My 10 Things About Me!

This is my first day on SparkPeople, and already people have been very friendly and informative and I wish I would have known about this site years ago!!

1. I'm a special needs nurse, I enjoy working with special needs children.

2. I am an ovarian and kidney cancer survivor, in remission for 1 year now.

3. I love animals, I currently have way more than I should.

4. I'm addicted to Diet Coke and am trying to break the habit!!!

5. I love anything outdoors and am looking for a walking and workout partner.

6. I will be attending college in the spring to get a higher degree in nursing.

7. I recently moved from Euclid to Willoughby.

Hi everyone! Not really new, but recently going to start using it more often. But yes. My name is Brittany and I live in a suburb of Cleveland. As for my 10 things...

1. I'm turning 23 in two days and I live with my boyfriend and his brother.
2. I'm trying to get back into school, it just costs so much.
3. I have four brothers and sisters. And I'm the second oldest.
4. I'm going to Cali in May of next year and want to be comfortable on the beach.
5. I've been with my boyfriend for what will be three years on the ninth, but it seemed right to move in already.
6. I want to travel the world. I have France and Italy down so far.
7. I currently work at a driving school as the secretary. But I want to be a Vet Tech.

My name is Jean Ellen, and here are 10 things about me...

1. I am the 3rd of 4 girls but my 2nd sister died last year, leaving me in the middle.
2. I am a registered nurse for 32 years, and I am a Certified Rehabilitation nurse; I got my Masters in Nursing completely online
3. My husband Mark and I have been married for 31 years
4. We love to travel, and with our GPS now take road trips and this fall will be our 3rd annual car trip out west
5. We have 2 grown children, and we all get along!
6. My mom and dad are aging but still very vital (although so sad since my sister got sick and died)

Hi Everyone!

Just joined SP yesterday and this SparkTeam. Here are my 10:

1. The main road I strive to walk in my earthly life is the one that will lead me to the joy of the Beatific Vision.

2. My name is Gina, a native Clevelander, and I live in a southwest suburb.

2. I became a teaching missionary in the South at the age of 19 and remained there for 16 years.

3. I felt called back to Cleveland in response to the declining health of my aging parents when they were in their 80's and cared for both of them in their home until they died.

4. I have been an educator for 30+ years and have spent my past 10 years in education as a school administrator.

5. I am 55 and have never been married...just never had the time or opportunity to get to meet or know anyone.

6. I love meeting new people, lavishing in the great outdoors, spending time with family and friends including my own dog and cat, and helping others.

7. I have over a few hurdles to overcome on my journey to good health and overall wellness and am committed to this lifelong journey, grateful for the help of SP tools and other resources, especially the SP Community!

8. The largest hurdle is losing 120 lbs. to get to a healthy BMI.

9. The next hurdle is to start exercising regularly, both aerobically and anaerobically, and start by walking for 30 minutes at least 3x week.

10. However, the ongoing hurdle is my addiction to the wrong kinds of carbs...Donato's thin crust pepperoni and onion pizza, too many servings of toasted whole grain bread and eggs, kettle and butter popcorn, margarine on my whole grain brown rice, almost any kind of cheese on anything and everything, and toasted waffles...just to name a few.

I appreciate the support of this SparkTeam and offer my support to all of you as well.

You inspire me! God is my fortress as well and although I sometimes lose my way by not speaking and calling on Him as often as I should, He always calls me back and I know I am blessed.

Children are the greatest of gifts, to parents and siblings alike; a gift that is eternal. God blesses you for recognizing this and allowing the love you and your wife share to be manifest in His creation.

How foolish are so many in our society who place their values on temporal things.

Your fidelity to your wife and commitment to your mother-in-law is commendable as well.

Please know that you and your family will be in my prayers. You will get in shape! Keep up the good work!

Hi everybody, my name is Tom.

1. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

2. I have 7 children, all from the same women.

3. I have been married to her for 20 years.

4. I am going on 40 this year.

5. Love cruises.

6. Take care of my wife's mother that has dementia.

7. I'm a network engineer.

8. I really need to get back in shape.

9. I dislike fruit, but love vegetables (except pees)

10. I have no pets ( are you kidding, with 7 kids and a mother-in-law)

Hi everyone, here's my 10

1. I'm short (5'0") but when I was picked on when I was younger, I fought back, so I'm small and mighty.

2. I'm in my early 40's but a coworker recently said they thought I was in my early 30's (bless them!) maybe because of the enormous energy I have from regular exercise.

3. I've just joined SP, I'm not a regular blogger or anything like that, but I intend to stick with SP.

4. I'm divorced, I have been with my SO for 17 years this year.

5. I grew up on the west side of Cleveland until I was 18 yrs. old.

6. Went into the U.S. Army for four years after high school, was stationed in Kansas and South Korea (saw some of the '88 Olympics while there).

7. Grew up as an athlete and played competitive slow-pitch softball until I was 40 yrs. old (knees getting bad). I absolutely love The Ohio State Buckeyes (football especially) GO BUCKS!!! But also love all Cleveland teams - GO CAVS!!! Pick it up Indians!

8. Love animals, only have one tank with 3 goldfish and one tank with tropical fish.

9. I've worked for the same company for 17 years and hope the economy picks up soon.

10. I may only need to lose 10-20 pounds but it can be hard when I love to eat fast food and salty snacks!

1. West side hockey mom, full time working mom – married for 20 years… 2 boys, 14 and 5.
2. Had knee surgery in December 08 and ready to get back at it now. No more excuses! I will work through my pain and get back on track!!!
3. I have not lost more than 35 lbs on diet/workout plans over the last 15 years. So my short term goal is to pass that mark!
4. I’m at my all time high weight, but I feel ready to move that mountain. 50 pounds in 50 weeks! (want faster, but I’m being real this time!!)
5. I’m a Chris Freytag fan. She’s my fitness guru. I can do her videos… Belly, Butt & Thighs, 3-2-1 and Drop it in 30 are my favorites..(www.chrisfreytag.com or preventionfitness.com). I love her stretching sequences and pace. It’s right for me.
6. My weight loss success of 35 lbs in 3 months was published in a prevention weight loss book. The day my copy arrived all the weight was back on me.—OUCH!
7. I love skating, walking, weight training and logging consecutive day streaks in working out. I love the feeling after I work out!
8. I love The Ohio State Buckeyes - football, The Detroit Red Wings - hockey, The Cleveland Indians -baseball, The TV series Burn Notice On USA and watching my children play their sports! – especially hockey.
9. I do very well during the work week, but have trouble tracking on the weekends. I need to work on that!
10. My Niece/godchild got engaged Friday night… Now I have an awesome goal. 1 year to get ready to buy a most fabulous dress!

If you looked at my page you already know a bit about me: I'm the 45 year old mom of a college kid (graduating from Fik University in three short weeks!)and I Iive in Cleveland, Ohio. I like to garden (flowers and vegetables); I love Scrabble and other word games, I like to bake & I'm from a large and very close knit family. If that isn't enough, here are 10 more T-9 facts:

*I"m a very tidy - my daughter says I walk around with a magnifying glass looking for things that need scrubbing. She only says that because SHE is a slob and couldn't see dirt if it were sitting on her eyeball.

*I love to read - especially the classics (Chaucer and Shakespeare)for pleasure (which my daughter thinks is weird)

*I take naps regularly

*I am an early riser - even on the weekends I am up and about by 6 or 6:30a

*I've been dating the same guy for almost 8 years; he wants to get married and I never want to marry again. Can you say, "odd couple?"

*I have lived in four different cities and three different states - not counting Cleveland - and I always, always come home.

* I started college as an Elementary/Special Education (hearing impaired) major, then I switched to English

*Before I had my daughter I wanted a lot of kids. After her labor and delivery I knew that I never wanted to give birth again ... and I haven't.

*I'm the baby and only girl of my family. I have two older brothers

*I currently work in Development for a private university in Cleveland.

1. Born & raised in Nebraska for 26 Years. Where I started my family. I have 3 kids - 2 boys & 1 girl (32,29 & 26)

2. Moved to North Olmsted and have lived here since.

3. Into Soccer (Referee & Playing)& Softball.

4. Have a Wonderful Husband. Met on a soccer field. (He is from England)

5. Daughter is married and now I have a great son-in-law and a step grandson. They are getting ready to by a new home. (which is too far away - Vermillion)

6. Had back surgery 6 mths ago. Doing great and getting back to my sports.

7. Tammie has been my best friend since coming to Cleveland and partner in crime. Our husband's also work together. Great Combination! Going on vacation together in 2 day! Watch out Alabama!

8. Enjoy reading English Authors (if you haven't tried one try Catherine Cookson)but like Nora Roberts as well.

9. Enjoy walking.

10. Take each day as it is given to me.

1. I love to travel and have been to 15 countries. Just 180 more to go! :)
2. I am graduating college with a BA in Digital Media/Communications & English this year.
3. I am a recovered bulimic who's trying to lose weight in a healthy way... even though I'm skeptical that there is such a thing.
4. I plan to teach English in Thailand next year.
5. I love roller coasters and I run them in exchange for money.
6. I love film, especially foreign and independent cinema.
7. My favorite place in the world is Iceland!
8. I have lived just outside Cleveland for my entire life.

Hey Mere! and Hey Fellow Sparkers! I'm am jumping in here even though I'm not new-

1. I grew up around Cleveland but have never actually lived within the city limits (suburbanite!)

2. I have been on SparkPeople for more than a year.

3. My husband and I met at work.

4. We will celebrate 3 yrs of marital bliss this June.

5. My job is pretty interesting. I provide technical assistance to community groups that have received small grants ( www.neighborhoodgrants.org ).

6. My gym membership is a local college and I really like it better than anywhere else I have used (Bally's, Fitworks)

7. I have no children.

8. I have very curly hair (some would call it "wooly"; my family calls it "nappy") that I am seriously considering cutting and donating to charity.

9. My preferred gym machine is the elliptical.

10. "Dining" is one of life's greatest pleasures for me.
