Hello I am new to the group. My name is Jen. I just rejoined Sparkpeople. I am back on my weight loss journey. I have a seven month old boy that I love to spend time with. But I have to set time aside for myself at least four times a week at the gym. He has been my excues for to long. I lost 20 pounds after having him. But being inactive caused me to gain it all back. Now I am back where I was before I had him. I going to get my sexy back this summer. Eating good and exercising.

Hi! Hi Everyone! I joined sparkpeople almost 2 months ago, but the progress have been really slow. I used to be very active, but over time (and after breaking my knee) I have become more sedentary. Due to a career change, I spend all day seated in front of a computer (like most of us) and so I need to get my knee and entire body back in gear. Joined a local gym to try to kick start things and my first visit will be tomorrow morning!

I also have a relaxed hair so I look forward to any tips and tricks you all can share.

Hello Everyone!

I joined the website based on a recommendation from a friend. Hopefully it will be a source to help me finally get started and continue moving in the right direction. In order to do this, I know I will need a lot of support. Greetings all! I have been on SP for about 2 months now and am seeing a real difference. I joined this group because I have actually found myself avoiding exercise in order to maintain my hair. It's crazy but true. Especially because I enjoy an active lifestyle.

I have been chemical free for 10 years (just realized that just now, that's awesome!) and for the last couple I have worn my hair straight and layered. Of course moisture is my mortal enemy! But I feel like after so many years and so many people facing a similar problem, there have got to be better remedies for ladies to keep their do looking fabulous despite hardcore workouts.

I have some ideas and half-way methods but I would love to hear more!

Hey Divas I'm not new to Spark People either, but of course like a true food addict I relapse. But since I've been recently deployed to Iraq I figured why not get myself in shape while I'm separated from my husband and daughter to try and make the time go pass a lil bit quicker. I must say that I'm a procrastinator and that I take forever to stick with a plan or I never complete it. I would like to stick with a weight loss plan and then build up my muscle mass because I would love to sculpt my body and possibly do a couple of shows. So wish me luck fellow Divas!!!! Hi everybody!

My name is Andrea Franklin and I'm happy I decided to search for more Spark Teams that would be a better fit for me.

I have a lot of goals-the major one, even more than the weight I want to lose, is to regain control of my body. It's like I hit 26 and everything has just gone haywire! Right now I'm working on lowering my blood pressure and monitoring my sodium intake. My mantra is "No more meds!"

My hair has gone wild too. I think it might be rebelling against the chemicals because lately nothing is really working for me. It's gotten unpredictable and a little dangerous-I nearly hurt myself trying to blow dry it the other day. I hope I came to the right place for help!

Hello Ladies! My name is Ebonie. I am basically a novice at fitness. I have exercised in the past but I NEVER was able to stick to a routine due to procrastination and no motivation. Well, now I am ready to make a lifestyle change. I need to exercise to be an healthier person, to tone, and to gain more energy. I currently weigh 150lbs and I will actually like to gain 10lbs. Yes, I said gain! I don't like being skinny or looking to thin. I was skinny before (120 lbs) and don't want to go back to that. I'm am 5 ft. 9 inches tall, so I can stand to add some pounds. Of course I want those pounds to come from muscle. And of course I don't want to bulk up like a body builder. I like having curves! I'm excited and is confident that this will be a positive change in my life!

I joined this group because I'm also into natural hair care and is starting to learn more about leading an overall natural lifestyle. I have had my natural hair since 2004. I currently wear wigs and braids to avoid applying heat to my hair for a straight style. I have had many ups and downs but I'm still on the journey! I'm also on a journey to become a more healthier person inside and out.

Hi everyone! I'm excited to find this group! I'm 23 years old and I'm from Texas. I frequent all of the hair boards and I'm happy to find other women who are interested in hair and over-all health! I decided that I am going to lose 20lbs by the end of this year and get back to a weight that makes me happy (and makes shopping more fun!) Hi I'm Keisha! I live in Birmingham, AL. I am a mother of a beautiful four year old diva!I am currently taking classes at the University of Alabama at Birmingham for communications, until December that is!!!! Hello ladies! As soon as I saw this team, I thought I found my nitche because my hair is one of my biggest obstacles for working out! I've been on SP for a while now, and I'm very active in the gym...but that means I wear my hair in a bun/ponytail EVERYDAY because I sweat it out. And it gets tiring! This morning I went to a local gym close to my house, and figured since it was so early in the morning, there was no need to impress...so I kept my hair wrapped! And it worked! I just can't do the same when I workout at the gym at my job at mid-day...I wouldn't feel comfortable! So ladies, I am open to all sorts of ideas and tips...

Hello All, I've just started on SP and I am really excited about turning a new page and becoming a better me. This seems like a great place to learn more about hair nutrition. I made a mistake by cutting my hair and getting one of the fad haircuts. Now I'm ready to grow my hair out long and strong. I also look forward to the fitness challenges.

Hi ladies,

Well, I've been on this time for awhile but decided it was time to reintroduce myself since I haven't been on Spark for a minute. My weight loss journey was interrupted during the holidays but now I've re-dedicated myself to my mission. I have just over 15 pounds to go which is amazing when I think of how far I've come. I started off weighing in at my all time high of 189.9 but now I'm hovering in the low 150s. I was 143.1lbs in October/November but between starting a new job, holidays, the birth of my nephew, and a slew of birthday dinners, I'm now back up. So, I'm back to lose the ten pounds I gained and get that last five off so that I can hit my goal before it's summer time.

Oh, and I'm taking better care of my hair. I'm now stretching my relaxers out to every 12wks and currently I'm back in kinky twist (like in my avator pic) so that I can workout harder w/o the worry of sweating out my perm.
