I hate treadmills, but I know they serve a purpose. Stationary bikes are the same...they don't go anywhere! LOL

Glad to meet you!

I don't like treadmills too much either. Too boring---a nice walk outside it much better. But I do a lot of house walking inside when the weather is bad.

Thank you for the welcome messages :) I will watch for the exercise challenge invite :) It's good timing - my husband and I take a nice evening walk on our lane now that the weather is nice. (I am not very good about using the treadmill as a replacement in the winter months.) I hope everyone has a good weekend coming up!

Hi to Jilla and Valerx! I am Dianne--my 3 girls are all out of the house but the baby was a senior in HS when I found this group--she is now 28 and just earned her PE (professional engineer certification). I am in NJ but we are looking to move in the next year or so since noe of the girls will ever settle here--too expensive. I grew up in WI so hope to head back toward the Midwest.

I will invite you to the exercise challenge but can only invite Sparkfriends so working to have that show up!

Again--welcome to the team!

Jilla, glad you are back on Spark. Dianne on the team sets a exercise challenge---I will ask her to send you an invite---not hard to reach and helps me at least do something most days. I too love to read---I work with autistic children in a middle school--and try to set a good example of reading a book in my few minutes of free time. Plus I love to read aloud to the students. They seem to enjoy my characters and voice changes and making it exciting when we get to those parts. I have cats, too. I know I am looking forward to traveling this summer. One of my best friends in a Spark friend that lives up near Erie in Albion. I plan to go up there for a few weeks this summer. We have so much fun together. Welcome to the team!

Hello! I just joined the team. I just started using SparkPeople again about a month ago, and it is really helping me eat and exercise more wisely. Our family lives in western Pennsylvania, and I have four kids - 24, 22, 20, and 16. My oldest is married, my middle two are both in college, and my youngest is in high school (two girls followed by two boys). We are looking forward to this summer (vs. last summer) - being able to go a few places and have some family fun :) I'm a librarian and love reading, writing, cats, camping, and hiking. I'm looking forward to being part of your team.

Welcome! My name is Anne. I live in MA about 10 minutes from Gillette Stadium, where the N E Patriots and N E Revolutions play football and soccer. I have 3 kids who all moved to GA. All 3 are married, oldest is female/40...went to Emory University there and stayed; middle is male/30...joined the Marines, met his wife who was from GA and when he was discharged moved there; youngest is female/27, went to U of West GA, and decided to stay. My DH and I are still busy working in MA and not quite ready to move to GA, but it will come...especially since we have 6 grands...each of our kids have a boy and a girl. They range in age from 4 to 12. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Val, Welcome! I think at your stage our goal was working so we could be healthy enough to enjoy the time when we have more of it for ourselves. And Still working on that---LOL Congrats on how well your kids are doing. It will feel strange when you only have the one at home and we will listen to your woes and successes as life progresses. Mine are all grown now and moved out but we still worry about them. My youngest just had emergency surgery for his appendix--always our babies no matter how big they get. But I still work in a school---middle school age now ---and that is the age of my gd. So I can keep an eye on her. Come join in on the chat. You don't have to respond to each of us, just keep us informed---and soon you will get to know us that way. Great bunch of gals! What area of the country do you live in? I live on the East Coast in Maryland---only about half an hour from Ocean City.

Hi Val! If you go to the chat thread for March/April, you'll get to know the most active chatters on the team and get a full dose of our combined wisdom~

Of course that's a joke, but emoticon and are out the other side (mostly) and some of us are grandparents watching our own kids go through it. I'm looking forward to getting to know you and about your "nest".

Hello Team,

I used Spark People to help me stick to health goals a number of times over the last decade and am back after feeling like I am back at square 1.

I have 4 kids ages boy, 23, girl 21, boy 18 and girl 15. They are all still at home but my oldest girl is getting married in September, They will be moving into an apartment less than 10 miles away. My oldest son is applying to medical school, works full time in a city hospital and will likely be at home until school starts in fall 2022. My 18 year old did his freshman year of art school remotely but will be living off campus next year and the youngest is a freshman in high school.

I was drawn to this team by its name! There is so much that goes into launching kids. It is amazing.

Who is active on this team? Any health goals that you are working on while navigating teens and young adult mayhem?

Val
