Hi everyone! I got the Wii Fit plus last year, and finally had the motivation to start using it daily. Or as close to it as possible. I don't have a gym membership, and work really weird retail hours... not to mention that It's the middle of winter here. I'm really excited, and nervous because I know I can do this and get down to my desired weight goal! I just hope that I get to meet some awesome people to help motivate! Let's do this!

PS. I'm still trying to get used to the forums LOL

Hi all! I just got a Wii and am new to the whole Wii exercise thing, but have found the Wii Fit Plus very entertaining so far! I think it will be great for the days when I just can't (or don't want to) get to the gym. My only concern is that the intensity seems a little on the low side, so if anyone has any suggestions with regard to higher impact Wii-ercise, I would be happy to hear it! All the best! :)

Hello, I'm Lyss. I use my WiiFit as my primary exercise since I'm not comfortable going to a gym to work out, and have knee issues that prevent me from doing a lot of jogging/running.

Lately I've been doing a lot of the Rhythm Boxing. I just wish I could set it up to go for 45 minutes instead of doing several rounds in a row.

Hi everyone, I am Sandy, back again for another round of weight loss. My blog probably shows a lot of up and down and motivation. I keep returning to Spark because it works. I use the Wii Fit every morning. Starting slow again. I turn on the 20 minute run and walk on the treadmill while my Wii me runs the course. Then I do some Advance step until the meter puts me over 30 minutes. I had some good success in the past with Nicole's videos, so that will probably work its way back into my plan.

I'm trying to re-start my wii workouts in conjunction with the January Jumpstart. I had been using the advanced step for my cardio, but I think today I'm going to step it up again with the boxing!

Hi, I am new to this team. I have had my Wii Fit Plus for about 6 months. I used it like crazy when I first got it, but got busy over the summer and got out of the habit of using it. I dusted it off yesterday, though. Now I am ready to get back in shape. I love the Wii Fit! It is fun and provides a challenging workout. I was excited to see a team devoted to Wii Fit! I look forward to completeing many challenges here.

Hi All! Well, I'm back on the boards again. I've updated my page and re-set my goals for a fresh start in 2012 after a year of ups and downs in 2011. Not sure how often I'll be able to get on-line but will be trying to post much more often. Wishing everyone a happy, healthy New Year!

Hi all,
I'm a 48 year old female, no kids, sharing life with my partner of 12 years. I've had my Wii awhile. It went unused until I joined "The Amazing Race" team and started competing with other teams. It got me back into the groove of things. However, when it ended I found it very easy to go back to old habits. I am taking another stab at it and hope there is the same motivation as I did in previous challenges. If you take a look at my spark page, you will see I am obsessed with the Wii. In a good way. If any of you would like to share friend codes for friendly competitions, please send me a spark email!

Hi Everybody! Finally got myself a wii fit for a steal and just set it up today. I am 21 almost 22 with a fitness age of 40 on the first time and 23 on 2nd. I need to lose around 50, but the game will only let me set for 20lbs. I am planning on doing 15-30 min daily workouts, but it depends on how my knee feels since I am coming off an acl surgery that was in June. Looking forward to meet you all. Good luck on your own goals!

Gina - Generally, the run will burn the most calories (you are right); but, so much depends on how much you put into each exercise.

I am Vanessa. I am married with 2 kids, ages 3 and 5, 2 dogs age 6, and 2 guinea pigs age 1. I will be starting work as an administrative assistant at a tax office soon. I've put on a little bit of weight with being laid off and I injured my ankle a couple of weeks ago.

I just got a Wii Fit Plus for Christmas. I am looking forward to a little new motivation and hopefully some weight loss! I have a couple of other Wii games and hope to get back to playing them and trying out new ones. I look forward to gettig to know all of you and watching our successes!

Thank you, and Yes, I need the energy, and good health to keep up with our family. We have a set of twins, boy, and a girl that is 13. Three other boys 17, 16, and 15. We had three boys, and tried for a girl, and had twins, one of each :)

Today marked day 2 of the Wii Fit. My question would be what exercise or activity burns the most calories using the Wii Fit? I have so far tried to quick free step, free run, and hula hoop. I am thinking that the run burns the most but I wanted to ask.

Best Wishes,
Gina

I have been a part of Spark People for a few years, and I have been inconsistent and up and down- quite frankly more up than down in terms of weight, but I will not give up. My husband and I just got the Wii and I am very excited to use it to get into shape.

I'm back after a long break. I haven't been exercising as much since my daughter was born in June, but I need to get busy and get back into it. Since I love the Wii Fit, I think this will be a great way to get moving again.

emoticon to all of you whom I haven't yet greeted. It's great to meet new members and to welcome back those who are returning after a break. After all these years, I still really enjoy a Wii Fit workout and also use many of the other Wii exercise games for a good workout.

I hope you enjoy the team and look forward to seeing everyone in the challenges and various discussions. Just dive right in and let me know if you have any questions.

Hey! I'm back! It's been so long since I've been on SparkPeople and I'm trying to get involved again.

I use my Wii Fit primarily as a scale...but I want to start exercising on it too.

My goal would be to exercise on the Wii Fit early in the AM and then do my P90X in the evenings. I just need some motivation to get out of bed earlier!

I'm another person coming back. I've been on & off SparkPeople for years. I was doing really well with it this summer until we went on vacation at the end of the summer. And the main issue I had then wasn't the exercise or eating - I did fine with both of those. I felt guilty about the fact I had signed up for a challenge & didn't follow through with it so disappeared for a while. Then school started back up with the kids, and at that point all routines went out the window, and unfortunately the eating and exercise are two of the things that really fell away.

Then, when my oldest daughter (14) and I decided a couple weeks ago to get back into exercising on the wii, our wii died. So we were fortunate enough to get a new one on Black Friday that did not include another copy of Mario anything....which I have no interest in.

So, just getting back into it. Not getting very far yet...but I have basically been a couch potato for the last few months & have to get back into having any stamina.

I'm back. I'm another one who got wii fit plus for Christmas last year and stopped using it sometime in February. It's hard to get time in with one wii attached to the family TV. But it felt good to do it today while the kids were in school. It was nice to see that my wii fit age was 25 today. Better than I remember it being. LOL

I need to figure out a good routine on it. I clocked 49 minutes today, and did a bunch of different things. I never feel like I'm getting much of a work out while I'm doing it (except for hula hoop) but after I'm done I feel the effects. I'm starting to actually unlock some more advanced levels so that might help me feel like I am getting in a good workout.

3 steps forward and 2 steps back still equals progress!

I'm starting over with SP after an almost 2 yr hiatus. I made a commitment rededicate myself to working out on a regular basis and am proud to say I'm off to a good start. This week I committed to getting up 45 minutes earlier each day to get in a minimum 30 minute workout every morning. Yesterday was Wii Fit and tomorrow will be Wii Fit Plus. Plan to alternate with a little Wii Active thrown in for good measure. If I keep this up, I know that I can drop these last 13 lbs by the end of the year.
