Welcome, Pam! Horizons is a great textbook and I love the images from SOHO. They are amazing.

Hiya:

I just recently Joined Sparkpeople, and found the Astronomy Team!

I have had an interest in astronomy since college, (about 30 years). I took several Astonomy classes before I had to settle down and get a degree.

My first telescope was an inexpensive newtonian that I purchased around the time that Halley came through. Several years later, I bought a nice Schmidt-Cassegrain (put it together the day of the OJ Bronco chase, yeah its that old) I remarried and had wild stepsons, so I locked it in its case, and there it has been for eight years. I suspect the primary is warped by now, so I will probably just have to junk it.

I recently repurchased the new edition of one of my favorite textbooks, "Horizons" by Michael Seeds.

My favorite Ipad apps: SOHO viewer, and 3D sun.
