Welcome to the team,
If you are having alot of bloating and milk is a problem....you might want to consider cutting daily altogether for a couple weeks and see how you feel with that.

What ever you do try to do, just change one thing at a time or you will not know what is making the difference.

Have you tried doing an elimination diet. That might be another thing to consider.

I wish you luck and if you have any questions, I know people here are always willing to try to make a difference.

I would 1st go to another Dr. and have them run some tests to make sure it isn't another problem. You should be able to get some kind of medication that will help with the belly.

Sorry that you are going through such a rough patch.

Every day I am on the verge of making slight changes that would make all the difference in my life.

One day I won't be able to do this, but today is not that day

Welcome, Athena.

I've had IBS-A (mostly D) for about 35 years. It sucks! But it can get better with changes in your diet and lifestyle.

The thing is that IBS is unique to the individual. So your participation is absolutely essential.

Continue your research on the SP site. Gather the experiences of others, try what 'speaks' to you, and keep what works!

Something that made a huge difference for me was including rice and beans in my diet (both soluble and insoluble fiber). Other people have a very hard time with beans. It took my body a few days to get used to the additional fiber, but once it did, I was able to see a significant improvement.

Another thing that has helped me is reducing stress. Music is something I find I need in my life (and it's a stress reducer for me).

I'm also trying Digestive Advantage. Someone on this site recommended it. I've been on it for about a week. I'll let you know how that works out.

I wish I could give you a magic pill that once taken would totally cure you. But unfortunately it doesn't work that way.

Take care and good luck.

Terry

Hi my name is Athena. I was told by a doctor a few years ago that I had irritable bowel but none of my doctors have ever really done anything about it or even told me what it is and what I should do to lessen the symptoms. I have recently done alot of research on it because I feel that its getting worse. I have had several symptoms for many years and still having them but they are getting worse. I have abdominal pains, severe diarrhea for about 3 years now, bloating and pretty much always feeling like my stomach is full. even though I have had so many probelms with diarrhea i still havent lost any weight my weight pretty much stays the same. I tell my mom that maybe if I would just start going way down in weight maybe someone would help me. I feel lost alot of times. I bloat so badly that my stomach extends out and it makes me look about 6 months pregnant eventually the bloating and stomach goes down and i look normal but then after I eat it starts right back up again. I would like to get some advice on what foods i should avoid and what foods are ok to eat cause i just dont know anymore seems like everything I eat bothers me. I have found that milk and pop bloats me but im sure other things do too i just dont pay attention..
