I have to tell you that I lose very slowly, and have to accept that if I am going to feel good and have energy, I can eat healthfully in in a reasonable calorie range, but will not drop pounds like some do. If I go too low, my body retains weight. Everyone is different. Don't compare yourself to others. That was one of my biggest hurdles. You are only concerned with you, and for some, just maintaining for a while and not gaining is the most they can get.
My spark buddy (who has been a friend for 20 years) used to say that it was just "calories in, equals how much you lose." She laughed when I said that I absolutely had to have protein at a certain level and did poorly with as many carbs as she did. I don't do Atkins, but I do eat fewer than she does. Well, she said she was going to research thyroid and weight loss. She called me a couple of days later and apologized. She'd read post after post of women who were struggling.
Now, thyroid or allergy may not be your problem. Maybe you are taking in too many cals a day. But, I'd look for other reasons first.
I know that for me, taking gluten out of my diet allowed me to have few fibromyalgia symptoms and have way more energy. Maybe for you it's something else. That's where tracking can help. If you see that you are eating a whole lot of one thing, maybe it's wrong for you. Not likely to be fruit and veg, though.
You might look at the blood type diet, perhaps. For someone who is a type O, meat is good, but dairy can be the difference between losing weight and not. My husband is an A, and can eat nuts and seeds and beans to his heart's desire, but doesn't do as well with a lot of meat and dairy as I do as a B. Of course, we compromise.
It's just another way of looking at things. I've found it to be pretty true for me.
Good luck, and be good to yourself in nonfood ways. You matter to others, even if you are bigger than you like. Remember baby steps! Eventually they turn into bigger steps which move faster.

the other ladies gave good tips. It is frustrating. Remember we are always here to support each other :)

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it. For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.

-Are you keeping your daily caloric intake to 1200-1400 per day?
-Drinking MOREthan 8 glasses of water?
-Measuring yourself to see if you are losing inches, instead of poungs?
-Changed up your exercise routine
-Include more cardio
-Longer workout sessions
-Tracking all your calorie consumption

Just a few things more to think about

good luck!!!!

Oh, Victoria, I sympathize with you soooooooo much! Have you checked that you are not hypothyroid? That means having the whole panel of tests and asking for the numbers. There is great info about this on the thyroid support team.
The next thing I'd check is gluten or dairy intolerance. You can do the testing, or just eliminate one of them at a time. I was tested by Gary Moses who is a naturopath. I don't know where you live, but he's just north of ABQ.
He found that I was totally intolerant to wheat. I've done without it since the end of July, and for the first time in years, am slowly but really beginning to lose weight.
If you are doing good things and getting nowhere, something else is contributing to this. It's soooooo discouraging!
If you are hypothyroid, my endochrinologist told me, you won't lose weight until your levels are normal for six months. It's frustrating. The consolation is that you are probably stronger and healthier even if you haven't lost weight.
Remember that you are beautiful as you are. Beauty comes from the inside! It shines out. If it is only from the outside, it is superficial.
Good luck, and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have.

Hi there my name is Victoria. I have been exercising and eating healthy for three years now, but with very little results. I'm at a stand still on my weight and I am also discouraged at going to the gym for an hour in the morning and in the evening. WHAT MORE DO I NEED TO DO? HELP!!
