Hi Stephanie,

Welcome to the Team!
Yes, making small steps is the way to go. That way you don't get overwhelmed and give up. Then you can add bigger goals once you hit a stride.

You can do it!

Steph, I totally understand where you're coming from and I am delighted that you have chosen to do your baby steps as that's what worked best for me. I even had to break my weight loss down to 5 pounds at a time and that was a good thing as it was so very overwhelming!!!!

Welcome to a place where you can get as much help as you choose to accept as you embark on this wonderful new season in your life!!!!

Blessings!

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much A true friend reaches for your hand but touches your hea

Hi everybody! My name is Stephanie and I've struggled with my weight my whole life. I've dieted in the past, with some success, but I tend to get off-track due to stress and lack of planning. Even now as I am gearing up to really do this, I'm struggling to get my head on straight about HOW to go about it....do I wanna do keto again, etc? I mentally want to jump into these big things, but deep down I know I need to just take it one baby step a time.

My goals right now are (1) drink more water, (2) track my food, (3) learn to like my coffee without sweeteners (even artificial ones), and and (4) start moving. I know this are still a bit vague and need more specificity - but it's a start!

I know I feel better reducing my carbs, but I'm not ready to jump back into crazy levels of restriction. I feel I'll start choosing my carbs better as I start tracking my foods. I want to make choices and not feel restricted. Feeling overly restricted only backfires into rebellion later on.

Have a great week! - Steph
