I restarted on Sparkpeople yesterday after a long time.
I have been very bad with my eating, exercises - eating lot of carbs, no exercise.
Since yesterday, I have started 30 mins of cardio on both dates and noting down everything I eat, even though it is not the best food (did have quite a lot of carbs yesterday).

Hello, I signed up as a member awhile ago & just got side tracked with life. Now I have to become healthier for alot of reasons. So I really want to make this work with SparkPeople but I just feel overwhelmed and do not know where to start.

My biggest issue is with the meal planning & shopping for healthier choices. We have been just a meat and potatoes family with just the corn & green beans. Where do I start & is there a menu planner on here somewhere.

Thanks & would appreciate any help!!!!

Hello, I am Karen and I have had this account for a while now and been back and forth with my effort to lose weight, it was hampered the last few years due to a lot of personal issues ( I had Breast Cancer, lost my mom, split from an abusive relationship) so I am trying to find my way back to good health. I work a lot of hours and have a long commute time so that is not helping either but I am not going to give up.

Hi!!!

My name is Maria, but my nickname is ReRe (that's pronounced with long e sounds; ReeeReee). It's been my nickname since I was a toddler. I had a cousin who couldn't say Maria and started calling me ReRe. It stuck! Anyway....

I'm not new to SP. I joined 5 or 6 yrs. ago, but never was consistent enough for much weight loss. I've lost around 30 lbs., but need to lose another 60 or so. I'm not really concerned with the number on the scale, but more with the size of my clothing and the way I feel. I'm getting older and I want to feel better than I do now.

My biggest challenge is making time for me. I am caregiver to a chronically ill daughter and an 89 yr. old father with dementia. I, also, work full time as a nurse. I'm hoping by joining SparkCoach I'll find a way to fit myself into all of this and take care of myself, as well as everyone else. Also, I've had a difficult time coming up with a specific eating plan that works for me....

This is, ABSOLUTELY, the last time I'm going to pay for any kind of weight loss program!! I hope this works....

They call me ReRe.....

The only way you fail.....
Is if you quit!

Life is too short not to be happy and have a good time!!

Hi! My name is Michelle. I am a wife, nurse, and mother of 4 (21 yr old young lady, 19 yr old young man, 15 yr old moody/goofy teenage girl, and a 12 yr old very athletic boy). I am not new to Sparkpeople - yet I have not been consistent with the program. My weight has fluctuated over the last few years, however net loss of 72 pounds. Tracking my intake is the way to go for me! I enjoy checking off the activities. I love the mobile apps! My goal is to reach 165 pounds. Looking for some support Spark friends on this journey :)

Hello! My name is Heather. I have two teenage children (16 yr old girl and 14 yr old boy.) I am new to SparkCoach, but not to SparkPeople. My weight has gone up and down since I was a teenager. When I lose weight, I keep it off for a long time. This latest weight gain is very frustrating. I lost 15 lbs 2 years ago with Weight Watchers. I had to stop that program because my husband thought it cost too much. So, now I'm trying to do it on my own with SparkPeople and Sparkcoach. I find tracking my food intake is very helpful, and adding my exercise is motivating me stay active.

This year it is my goal to lose the other 15 lbs and get healthy in both body and mind. I look forward to going on this journey with all of you. emoticon

Hi Everyone.... My weight issues have been a lifetime struggle for me. I remember my first go around with weight watchers was when I was 12 and I have tried every diet out there since then. I did succeed in losing 100 pounds after my son was born when I was 24. Unfortanetly I also suffer from depression and hit a wall in my early 30's and gained almost all the weight back so here I am ready to lose the excess weight once and for all. I am new to the SparkPeople within the last 6 weeks. I have looked at the site many times in the past couple of years. I had been a weight watchers member which worked some for me but I found that it was getting expensive and I was getting tired of having to figure out points for the foods I ate. Simply counting calories and fat seems way easier since you just have to read the food label. My boyfriend and I also have a gym membership so I have been trying to get to the gym at least 3 times a week. My biggest issue is MOTIVATION!!! I start out great but seem to lose it after a month or so. My goal is to lose the weight to get healthy but i'm also using my boyfriend's son's graduation to keep me motivated! If I lose 40 pounds before graduation I get to buy a new outfit no matter what it costs!!

Hi JULESWILLDOIT and WIND_DANCER and all-

I'm excited about this! I've done SparkPeople off and on since 2007 when I used to collect every point I could, every day. Those days that I collected them all, I lost weight :) But there's about a 1000 new ways to earn points every day and I was feeling a bit overwhelmed at how big this site is now! I'm excited for SparkCoach as a way to walk me through it in less time!

Hi everyone! My name is Kathy I am new to SparkCoach but not to Sparkpeople. I have been on and off this weight loss roller coaster since I was a little girl. I am now committed to reaching my goal and finding a healthy me. I have always been a person to care for others and neglect myself and it has hurt me in so many ways. So now is my time. I just finished my Bachelor degree in Social Work. I am a single mom of two amazing children and so now mom is working on her! I am thankful there are so many people out there to help when any of us needs supported. Have an amazing day everyone and Keep SPARKING!!

Hello! I am Cheryl. I joined Spark People over 2 yrs. ago, but haven't been active in a long while. Was going thru Chemo for a long time and then broke my ankle. This year, I plan to be active and need to loose about 50 more lbs. Lost about 25 during treatment, but not the right way. Now I am focusing on eating healthy and slowly become more physically active. Having to start slow due to the ankle, but a little bit of activity is better than none.

Hi! I'm not new to SparkPeople but new to the coaching. I take daily, long-term steroids for a health condition and am having a heck of a time losing weight. I lost about 10 pounds in 6 months last year and put 6 back on. My biggest goal is to keep doing. Not trying, but doing!

Hi I'm Erin, I'm not new to spark people, but I haven't been very active on the site in quite awhile. I started sparkpeople about a year ago, lost about 20 pounds, reached a plateau, stopped, then gained about 10 pounds back. I need to lose about 45 lbs to reach my goal weight.

Hello,
My name is Nita and I need to spark my weight loss. I am 3 years out from gastric bypass surgery and as they say, the honeymoon is over. what they dont tell you is that after 3 years, unless you have kept up with all of the good habits you should have learned, you are back to "normal" which is gaining weight and looking for a diet to follow to get that weight off. I need to lose 34 pounds and thought that a by digging into what this website has to offer I will be able to reach my goal!

I'm Jess. I tried Sparkpeople last year with great success. I found that the tracking became quite tedious, so I fell off the bandwagon.... bad decision. I now realize that the nutrition/fitness tracking is essential. I'm excited to check out the new spark coach feature.

My name is Riana.I heard about Sparkpeople from my sister. I joined it almost a year ago, and I'll be honest, I slacked off a bit. I also gained a few lbs since joining too. :( I used to do a lot of exercise, and I even trained for a half marathon in 2011. Due to some meical issues, I can't do excessive exercise (well running/walking extreme miles), and am on light duty exercise until things get better. I'm now trying to get back on track with things slowly. My goal so far is to lose 20 lbs, but would be great if I could lose more. So, I figured sparkcoach would be good motivation to stick with it this time.

I have been a member of Spark People since June 2012. I lost almost 60 pounds by exercising and sticking to a strict diet. But over the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays, I fell off the wagon, stopped exercising and ate whatever I was craving. I gained 4 pounds emoticon

I am starting over. I went to my first personal training session today and I loved it. I joined Spark Coach today as well. I am beginning to track my food and exercise (something I didn't do before.)

My problem has always been eating right. I either am too strict or eat everything in site. I need to find a balance. I need to start cooking healthy meals at home, which is a challenge to me.

I hope Spark Coach and this team will give me the motivation I need to stay on track.

I am just coming back to spark people and I really hope to lose weight and get healthier. I hope spark coach can help me eat better and exercise more and get into a routine. I am currently working full time and finishing my 2nd masters degree so it is really hard to find time to exercise and really easy to eat food that is not good for me. I really hope this site provides the motivation and support I need

I am not new to sparkpeople, nor am I new to sparkcoach. I am really struggling with my food choices & exercise. I have thousands of excuses, some of which are legit, most of which are lame. I am at my highest weight ever, which I don't even know the number because I'm afraid to step on the scale, but my clothes are getting tighter.

I need a push, so I'm trying out sparkcoach. My goals are the same as always: track my food daily and exercise according to the January Jumpstart program.

Good Morning Everybody,
Just started SparkCoach this morning, have been on SparkPeople about a week and thought I needed some extra direction. I am a full time working mom with 6 kids, only two still at home. I have 8 grandchildren. I decided to quit smoking after 30 years and since I was already carrying around extra weight knew I didn't want to add to it, so looked up SparkPeople. The site is awesome, I am so grateful to have these resources available for free. Have a great Monday everyone.

I've been part of the team for awhile. I'm not even sure how long. This is my first post.

I'm very grateful for the SparkCoach program, though my biggest issue is feeling like I can't log in if I've not been eating well or able to exercise. I just need to be willing to let it be an encouragement and up-hill motivator, not the hand slap that I believe it will be. It isn't designed to be that!!

So...thank you for the program, GO GET 'EM, to those who need a touch of encouragement, and let's keep stepping into healthier habits!

Hi All!

I am Rachel, I am looking forward to the SparkCoach experience. I have been a member of SparkPeople since March 2007. I have been on and off as many others- and each time I have jumped on trying to do something. I must've gone too fast because I got off within a month or 2....

I am excited to try this new program, and have enjoyed the trial to get me started. This is the first time I am paying for something more than a dvd or book! So I am excited to be focused and trying this out!

Go us!

.I have been a member sincew 2010. Using spark and OA I lost 54 pounds. Over the last year my chronic pain got so bad I could not walk. I had spine surgery in june then fell and broke my foot and ankle. I am just starting to walk again. Stress eating and bedrest, I gained it all back. Today, however, is a new day

Hi! My name is Theo and I am on Day 3. I LOVE this site and the coaching is a big part of the draw for me. Sometime dieting can feel lonely....even though everyone seems to be on one at any given time, it is hard to keep motivation UP in the evenings so I signed up for Spark Coach to be my 'Wingman'. I always look for FAST FAST results, so the slow and steady way is hard to accept but necessary to make a life long change! emoticon

Hi. I'm Nina. As so many others have stated, I'm not new to SparkPeople, but new to SparkCoach. I need help, and I feel like this will be a big help. "If it's to be, it's up to me." I have to reach out, to make it work.

I'll be 78 next month and am in the worst shape of my life. I lost my husband last January and have had one great big pity party for a year. Well, it's time I get back to life as it's intended to be and start getting myself back in shape. I put on 40 pounds during the past year. Eating seemed to be the thing to feel better, and that coupled with major health problems all year have really taken their toll.

I need to lose 105 pounds. Sounds daunting. So, okay, this week I have a goal to lose one pound. At my size, even one pound starts taking pressure off my knees and hips. I'm going to make it! And then one more pound, and then.... Well, you get the picture.

Things WILL get better! I know! emoticon emoticon

Hi! I'm Kalen! I have been a member of SP since February of 2007. I started almost a year before my wedding to help me lose weight. I have been off and on the site since then, but have come back to stay accountable. I just had my first baby in April & gained almost 50 pounds in my pregnancy. I haven't taken much off in the past 9 months & am really trying to get motivated! I stumbled across Spark Coach today & I'm really hoping this will do the trick. :)
