I'm new in July on here too, but I have to tell you this about the balance games: I too am not very good at them AT ALL. However, I have improved the more I use them! I am more aware of my balance as I stand, etc., which is something I never considered before. Over the course of this month, I have moved my Center of Balance almost to an equal 50/50, which just astounds me. Don't give up or quit doing the games because you're not doing well - practice will make it easier!!

You can do this!!

Hi, I'm Jodi. I got the Wii fit a few weeks ago but haven't used it much. I think I'm too big for the balance board..my thighs push my feet too far apart to be in the right place. I also don't have the greatest balance so am not doing so great with the balance games, or any rhythem..so basically have been using it to step up and down while I watch tv..boring. I'm gonna keep trying until I find something I can do tho.

Hi all! I am back on SP after a "leave" And I am very focused. the Wii will be my many form of exercise for my journey. I am so excited about everything in my life coming up in the next year. My first thing is to build up endurance for a family vacation mid-August....means I have only 3 weeks.

Hi Kathleen here. I've been a member of spark for 2 years, off and on. For health reasons I have to reach my goal this time around. I have been diagnosed with Osteo Arthritis and find exercising can be quite difficult, but knowing that being over weight increases the pain, I know I have to do it this time.

Looking forward to keeping up with the challenges.

Hi, my name is Lisa. I have had my wii fit for over a year now and it almost been that long since I have been on it. So this morning I dusted it off and got back on, it told me that I had gained 30 pounds since then. I am committing myself for using it for at least 20 minutes a day to get myself out of that obese range.

Joined the 10 minute challenge, I know there is no reason I can not do that!!!

Hello! I'm Jackie and I'm a returning member to the team. I'd signed up a year of so ago, but never actually used our Wii at all. Now that we've moved it to a more accessible room, I use it all the time and I LOVE IT!

I'm looking forward to taking part in all the challenges I can - they really motivate me!

Hello! I'm Emily! I joined SP last week after deciding it was time to get serious about getting in shape and losing weight. We jut got a Wii a few months ago and haven't really used it much. Last week, after my "get fit" revelation, I went out and bought Gold's Gym: Dance Workout and My Fitness Coach and ordered Exerbeat (which came today and I really like). Anyway I would not consider myself an exerciser and I am quite out of shape. Every time I've started an exercise plan I get bored by day 3 and quit. I think the Wii is a great way to keep it interesting and keep me motivated! I look forward to taking this journey with all of you!

Hello, My name is Amber and I have just recently gotten the Wii, My dad got it for me as an extra help on my working out as he is very supportive on my weigh loss. I have only had it for a week now and am still learning it all lol but so far my favorite things to do on there is the steps, hula hoop, obstacle course and some other. I haven't fully checked all the games out yet lol Looking forward to getting to know you all :)

I agree with Astroscopus. I browsed your boards before I joined and it looks like so much fun! And the Amazing Race looks like a neat challenge, too! You all are very creative! I try to use the gym or walk/bike outside, but the Wii is always ready for me-love that!

Hi! I bought my Wii because of the fun I had playing at a friend's house. Loved the idea of working off calories while playing games, because I've never really grown up. Unfortunately, I usually don't stick with a fitness program very long. This team seems like a really great idea since I've seen topics discussing new games and the challenges look like a lot of fun.

I have struggled with my weight all my life but really need to get it off just started doing some wii exercise in the last week and really enjoying them. I hope this will help me stay on track.

Hi, I'm Staci. I'm happily married and live in Salt Lake. I know that I've got alot of work to do with my health. I've been on a constant battle with my weight for as long as I can remember. That being said, I do want to improve my overall health, not just to lose the weight but because I know it will benefit all aspects of my life.

I am fumbling around this website, trying to find my way...

I actually started "dieting" a couple weeks ago... lost a little, but am stuck, so I got the Spark book, signed up on the webpage, and am starting to make healthy lifestyle changes.

My first goals are water, 10 min of exercise, and a motivational quote. Yesterday I didn't get all my water... went to sleep at 7 glasses.

I love my Wii Fit and ended up with 74 minutes this morning. My kids and I take turns, so we don't get too tired, and it kills the morning better than watching cartoons. My fallback is that I HATE being sweaty, so I need to head to the shower soon..... we stopped because the balance board's batteries went dead.

From what I have read, the key to this page that makes it much different is the "community" so I am looking for a few buddies to share my stories with....

I can reach my GOAL weight!

Hi Nana. I am a mother of 5 and grandmother of 9. I have family in NC in the High Point, Greensboro areas but currently reside in the Richmond VA area. I am hoping to make use of the Wii the kids gave me for Christmas to help me get to a healthier weight. Good luck to you on your journey.

I have a tendency to stalk message boards instead of participating in them. I thought for a change I would actually participate and see if it works better. Have a great 4th of July.

Hi there, im 59 year old Scot, im married, im a mum, a granny and a great granny. Im fast approaching 60 and im deternined to be fitter not fatter. I love the Wii and try to use it most days but im thinking joining this team I may discipline myself to be more active. Looking forward to meeting new folks and making new friends.

Just joined today and am excited about this race. I am on vacation now so walking is what we are doing most of with the dogs and our son. I am from North Carolina and a mother of 2 and grandmother of 3 and a great grand mother of 2. Looking to get to my goal weight soon and staying there. I love spark and meeting new poeple. good luck everyone.

Just joined today, looking for ways to incorporate exercise into my lifestyle. My kids gave me a wii for Christmas and I thought this would be a perfect way to start. Due to knee problems I have a hard time with the floor type exercises. I was hoping this forum would help me create a plan that I can use 5 - 7 days a week in addition to walking which can be boring and subject to changes due to the weather. I am looking forward to learning whatever I can from each of you.
