I made it through a trip to town with mom and sister and 2 fast food stops where I ordered nothing today. It might not seem like a big deal but for me it is a Major Accomplishment!!!

FRAN, I like your idea of counting stairs, I decided that is something I should be counting,I have to go up and down mine several times a day. I have my computer downstairs and my laundry room too. Of course the bathroom is upstairs!

Mowed pastures and loaded, unloaded and stacked 20 more bales of hay. I now have 60 bales for the fall. Will go back in another month and see if I can get 20 more bales...That should do it for the winter months.

Got to 10,000 steps yesterday a while since I got that far! Feeling more motivated and Happy I lost 6 # ! emoticon emoticon
I went out last night and over indulged on food but it was worth every calorie and I think ya have to do this just once in a while! emoticon emoticon emoticon It was so-o good! I haven,t had a Burger in weeks or a Beer! emoticon

My NSV was being able to complete a 5 mile hike up a mountain in Big Sur, CA while on vacation with my family. Two years ago this would have been impossible for me. I was tired of being that person that always said, "you go ahead, I'll watch/wait here" It was a really great feeling to have my family tell me how proud they were of me. emoticon

Vision boards are part of goal-setting success as recommended by Spark Guy in the Focus cornerstone. I've been waiting for a dentist for four years now, and just received a letter inviting me to make an appointment. Just check out this bit of my vision board!


The amazing thing is that when I checked my status a few months ago, I was told I had been allocated to a dental practice near where I live, but when I went to register I was told that the practice was closing, and would be taken over by a franchise dentist which does not have a stellar reputation. I heard no more. Today I have been allocated to a really super dental practice which is a couple of hours away by bus - but they are a friendly, kind, practice committed to social service. I am so excited. The lack of dental care has been worrying me.

Both NSV & emoticon Daily weigh-ins and record. Last chance work-outs & extra water on team challenges. Past stress about slow weight loss. Now, focus on 5 pounds at a time with no-food rewards. Walking with Buddy or soaking in hot tub. Best rewards are healthy gains of muscle strength, energy, and glowing skin. [Down 5# since Sept. 1st following plan]
1. High nutrients/low calories * 2. Muscles Strength heavy # low reps 8-10 & daily cardio
Nutrition plan - Low carb & salt. Eating window 11a-7p. Lean more to improve. Since Jan. 2016... it's working! ~Healthy fats: 1T. flaxseed; spray olive/coconut oil, few nuts, guacamole, 100% cacao. ~Carbs: non-starchy vegs, 1 fruit/day (berries or green banana). Limit yams, oats, quinoa, rice. ~Protein vegan shakes; Limit animal protein sardines 2x/w, good eggs & chicken for homemade bone broth

This is first time I had anything victorious to talk about I guess this counts. I lived my entire life with a do-list that is endless. I worked most of that time Started summers at 16. Was all that and worked a job, played nurse, laundress, chauffeur, chief cook and bottle washer. Since I can no longer do it I have finally relaxed my mind. I guess I realized I'm not a bad person cause that part is over. It is a reward for a job Well Done!!! emoticon

My new NSV -- I had to buy a smaller size of underwear because I had to keep pulling the others up so high they were way out of my pants and kept sliding down. My daughter saw me getting dressed and said "Call 911 someone stole the big butt out of your underwear!" So I go some that fit. TWO sizes smaller.

Finally, got my orthotics and new expensive shoes so that I can walk again. Started with 10 minutes at a time again. Was really sore after my first walk. I seem to be using different muscles with the new shoes. Will build back up to 30 minutes twice a day.

Rita, I am enjoying my Tai Chi class. It is for beginners and just for senior citizens so it is some what of an abbreviated form. I find it very relaxing, I have noticed that I don't have near the feelings of depression that I was having.

Completed one month of Buddy walking with a friend who said "I would go if I had someone to walk with." I immediately said I would!! She could only do 5 min a day to begin with. We increased by the minutes weekly and are up to 10 this coming week.

I had seriously considered putting up a sign at the library for the same thing. Starting slow got me in the habit / lifestyle......and I KNOW I would have stuck with it years ago if someone had walked with me when I tried it back in 2011. It took me 3 more years to make myself get going and do something daily and work up to now.

I want to help others feel better the way I do and to have that sense of pride in taking daily steps (even small ones) to take care of oneself.
